By faith we understand that the universe was[a] created by God’s command,[b](A) so that what is seen has been made from things that are not visible.

By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain did. By faith he was approved as a righteous man, because God approved his gifts, and even though he is dead, he still speaks through his faith.(B)

By faith Enoch was taken away so he did not experience death, and he was not to be found because God took him away.[c] For prior to his removal he was approved, since he had pleased God.(C)

By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
