11 And every priest stands day after day at his service, offering again and again the same sacrifices that can never take away sins.(A) 12 But when Christ[a] had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, “he sat down at the right hand of God,” 13 and since then has been waiting “until his enemies would be made a footstool for his feet.”(B) 14 For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

A Call to Persevere

19 Therefore, my brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,(A) 20 by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain (that is, through his flesh),(B) 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God,(C) 22 let us approach with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.(D) 23 Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful.(E) 24 And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.(F)

A Call to Persevere in Faith

19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence(A) to enter the Most Holy Place(B) by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way(C) opened for us through the curtain,(D) that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest(E) over the house of God,(F) 22 let us draw near to God(G) with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings,(H) having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience(I) and having our bodies washed with pure water.(J) 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope(K) we profess,(L) for he who promised is faithful.(M) 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds,(N) 25 not giving up meeting together,(O) as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another(P)—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.(Q)
