3 POR tanto, hermanos santos, participantes de la vocación celestial, considerad al Apóstol y Pontífice de nuestra profesión, Cristo Jesús;
2 El cual es fiel al que le constituyó, como también lo fué Moisés sobre toda su casa.
3 Porque de tanto mayor gloria que Moisés éste es estimado digno, cuanto tiene mayor dignidad que la casa el que la fabricó.
4 Porque toda casa es edificada de alguno: mas el que crió todas las cosas es Dios.
5 Y Moisés á la verdad fué fiel sobre toda su casa, como siervo, para testificar lo que se había de decir;
6 Mas Cristo como hijo, sobre su casa; la cual casa somos nosotros, si hasta el cabo retuviéremos firme la confianza y la gloria de la esperanza.
7 Por lo cual, como dice el Espíritu Santo: Si oyereis hoy su voz,
8 No endurezcáis vuestros corazones Como en la provocación, en el día de la tentación en el desierto,
9 Donde me tentaron vuestros padres; me probaron, Y vieron mis obras cuarenta años.
10 A causa de lo cual me enemisté con esta generación, Y dije: Siempre divagan ellos de corazón, Y no han conocido mis caminos.
11 Juré, pues, en mi ira: No entrarán en mi reposo.
12 Mirad, hermanos, que en ninguno de vosotros haya corazón malo de incredulidad para apartarse del Dios vivo:
13 Antes exhortaos los unos á los otros cada día, entre tanto que se dice Hoy; porque ninguno de vosotros se endurezca con engaño de pecado:
14 Porque participantes de Cristo somos hechos, con tal que conservemos firme hasta el fin el principio de nuestra confianza;
15 Entre tanto que se dice: Si oyereis hoy su voz, No endurezcáis vuestros corazones, como en la provocación.
16 Porque algunos de los que habían salido de Egipto con Moisés, habiendo oído, provocaron, aunque no todos.
17 Mas ¿con cuáles estuvo enojado cuarenta años? ¿No fué con los que pecaron, cuyos cuerpos cayeron en el desierto?
18 ¿Y á quiénes juró que no entrarían en su reposo, sino á aquellos que no obedecieron?
19 Y vemos que no pudieron entrar á causa de incredulidad.

Christus ist größer als Mose
3 Daher, ihr heiligen Brüder, die ihr Anteil habt an der himmlischen Berufung, betrachtet den Apostel und Hohenpriester unseres Bekenntnisses, Christus Jesus,
2 welcher dem treu ist, der ihn eingesetzt hat, wie es auch Mose war in seinem ganzen Haus.
3 Denn dieser ist größerer Ehre wertgeachtet worden als Mose, wie ja doch der, welcher ein Haus gebaut hat, mehr Ehre hat als das Haus selbst.
4 Denn jedes Haus wird von jemand gebaut; der aber alles gebaut hat, ist Gott.
5 Auch Mose ist treu gewesen als Diener in seinem ganzen Haus, zum Zeugnis dessen, was verkündet werden sollte,
6 Christus aber als Sohn über sein eigenes Haus; und sein Haus sind wir, wenn wir die Zuversicht und das Rühmen der Hoffnung bis zum Ende standhaft festhalten.
Warnung vor dem Unglauben, der die verheißene Ruhe in Christus verfehlt
7 Darum, wie der Heilige Geist spricht: »Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme hört,
8 so verstockt eure Herzen nicht, wie in der Auflehnung, am Tag der Versuchung in der Wüste,
9 wo mich eure Väter versuchten; sie prüften mich und sahen meine Werke 40 Jahre lang.
10 Darum wurde ich zornig über jenes Geschlecht und sprach: Immer gehen sie in ihrem Herzen in die Irre, und sie haben meine Wege nicht erkannt,
11 sodass ich schwor in meinem Zorn: Sie sollen nicht in meine Ruhe eingehen!«[a]
12 Habt acht, ihr Brüder, dass nicht in einem von euch ein böses, ungläubiges Herz sei, das im Begriff ist, von dem lebendigen Gott abzufallen!
13 Ermahnt einander vielmehr jeden Tag, solange es »Heute« heißt, damit nicht jemand unter euch verstockt wird durch den Betrug der Sünde!
14 Denn wir haben Anteil an Christus bekommen, wenn wir die anfängliche Zuversicht bis ans Ende standhaft fest-
halten,
15 solange gesagt wird: »Heute, wenn ihr seine Stimme hört, so verstockt eure Herzen nicht wie in der Auflehnung«.
16 Denn einige lehnten sich auf, als sie es hörten, aber nicht alle, die durch Mose aus Ägypten ausgezogen waren.
17 Über wen war er aber 40 Jahre lang zornig? Waren es nicht die, welche gesündigt hatten, deren Leiber in der Wüste fielen?
18 Welchen schwor er aber, dass sie nicht in seine Ruhe eingehen sollten, wenn nicht denen, die sich weigerten zu glauben?
19 Und wir sehen, dass sie nicht eingehen konnten wegen des Unglaubens.

3 Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;
2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.
3 For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who hath builded the house hath more honour than the house.
4 For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God.
5 And Moses verily was faithful in all his house, as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;
6 But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
7 Wherefore (as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice,
8 Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness:
9 When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years.
10 Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart; and they have not known my ways.
11 So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest.)
12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.
13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;
15 While it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.
16 For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.
17 But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not?
19 So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
