Verschiedene Weisungen und Ermahnungen
13 Die Bruderliebe soll bleiben! 2 Gastfrei zu sein vergesset nicht; denn dadurch haben etliche ohne ihr Wissen Engel beherbergt.
3 Gedenket der Gefangenen als Mitgefangene und derer, die Ungemach leiden, als solche, die selbst auch noch im Leibe leben.
4 Die Ehe ist von allen in Ehren zu halten und das Ehebett unbefleckt; denn Hurer und Ehebrecher wird Gott richten!
5 Der Wandel sei ohne Geiz! Begnüget euch mit dem Vorhandenen! Denn er selbst hat gesagt: "Ich will dich nicht verlassen noch versäumen[a]!" 6 Also daß wir getrost sagen mögen:
"Der Herr ist mein Helfer; ich fürchte mich nicht! Was können Menschen mir tun?"
7 Gedenket eurer Führer, die euch das Wort Gottes gesagt haben; schauet das Ende ihres Wandels an und ahmet ihren Glauben nach! 8 Jesus Christus ist gestern und heute und derselbe auch in Ewigkeit!
9 Lasset euch nicht von mancherlei und fremden Lehren umhertreiben; denn es ist gut, daß das Herz durch Gnade befestigt werde, nicht durch Speisen, mit welchen sich abzugeben noch niemand Nutzen gebracht hat. 10 Es gibt einen Altar, von welchem die Diener der Stiftshütte nicht essen dürfen.
11 Denn von den Tieren, deren Blut für die Sünde durch den Hohenpriester ins Allerheiligste getragen wird, werden die Leiber außerhalb des Lagers verbrannt. 12 Darum hat auch Jesus, um das Volk durch sein eigenes Blut zu heiligen, außerhalb des Tores[b] gelitten. 13 So lasset uns nun zu ihm hinausgehen, außerhalb des Lagers, und seine Schmach tragen! 14 Denn wir haben hier keine bleibende Stadt, sondern suchen die zukünftige.
15 Durch ihn lasset uns nun Gott allezeit ein Opfer des Lobes darbringen, das ist die "Frucht der Lippen", die seinen Namen bekennen! 16 Wohlzutun und mitzuteilen vergesset nicht; denn solche Opfer gefallen Gott wohl!
17 Gehorchet euren Führern und folget ihnen; denn sie wachen über eure Seelen als solche, die Rechenschaft ablegen sollen, damit sie das mit Freuden tun mögen und nicht mit Seufzen; denn das wäre euch zum Schaden!
Segenswünsche und Grüße
18 Betet für uns! Denn wir sind überzeugt, ein gutes Gewissen zu haben, da wir uns allenthalben eines anständigen Lebenswandels befleißigen. 19 Um so mehr aber ermahne ich euch, solches zu tun, damit ich euch desto bälder wiedergeschenkt werde.
20 Der Gott des Friedens aber, der den großen Hirten der Schafe von den Toten ausgeführt hat, mit dem Blut eines ewigen Bundes, unsren Herrn Jesus, 21 der rüste euch mit allem Guten aus, seinen Willen zu tun, indem er selbst in euch schafft, was vor ihm wohlgefällig ist, durch Jesus Christus. Ihm sei die Ehre von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
22 Ich ermahne euch aber, ihr Brüder, nehmet das Wort der Ermahnung an! Denn ich habe euch mit kurzen Worten geschrieben.
23 Wisset, daß unser Bruder Timotheus freigelassen worden ist; wenn er bald kommt, will ich euch mit ihm besuchen.
24 Grüßet alle eure Führer und alle Heiligen! Es grüßen euch die von Italien!
25 Die Gnade sei mit euch allen! Amen!

3 Gedenket der Gebundenen als die Mitgebundenen derer, die in Trübsal leiden, als die ihr auch noch im Leibe lebet.
4 Die Ehe soll ehrlich gehalten werden bei allen und das Ehebett unbefleckt; die Hurer aber und die Ehebrecher wird Gott richten.
5 Der Wandel sei ohne Geiz; und laßt euch genügen an dem, was da ist. Denn er hat gesagt: "Ich will dich nicht verlassen noch versäumen";
6 also daß wir dürfen sagen: "Der HERR ist mein Helfer, ich will mich nicht fürchten; was sollte mir ein Mensch tun?"
7 Gedenkt an eure Lehrer, die euch das Wort Gottes gesagt haben; ihr Ende schaut an und folgt ihrem Glauben nach.
8 Jesus Christus gestern und heute und derselbe auch in Ewigkeit.
9 Lasset euch nicht mit mancherlei und fremden Lehren umtreiben; denn es ist ein köstlich Ding, daß das Herz fest werde, welches geschieht durch die Gnade, nicht durch Speisen, davon keinen Nutzen haben, die damit umgehen.
10 Wir haben einen Altar, davon nicht Macht haben zu essen, die der Hütte pflegen.
11 Denn welcher Tiere Blut getragen wird durch den Hohenpriester in das Heilige für die Sünde, deren Leichname werden verbrannt außerhalb des Lagers.
12 Darum hat auch Jesus, auf daß er heiligte das Volk durch sein eigen Blut, gelitten draußen vor dem Tor.
13 So laßt uns nun zu ihm hinausgehen aus dem Lager und seine Schmach tragen.
14 Denn wir haben hier keine bleibende Stadt, sondern die zukünftige suchen wir.
15 So lasset uns nun opfern durch ihn das Lobopfer Gott allezeit, das ist die Frucht der Lippen, die seinen Namen bekennen.
16 Wohlzutun und mitzuteilen vergesset nicht; denn solche Opfer gefallen Gott wohl.
17 Gehorcht euren Lehrern und folgt ihnen; denn sie wachen über eure Seelen, als die da Rechenschaft dafür geben sollen; auf daß sie das mit Freuden tun und nicht mit Seufzen; denn das ist euch nicht gut.
18 Betet für uns. Unser Trost ist der, daß wir ein gutes Gewissen haben und fleißigen uns, guten Wandel zu führen bei allen.
19 Ich ermahne aber desto mehr, solches zu tun, auf daß ich umso schneller wieder zu euch komme.
20 Der Gott aber des Friedens, der von den Toten ausgeführt hat den großen Hirten der Schafe durch das Blut des ewigen Testaments, unsern HERRN Jesus,
21 der mache euch fertig in allem guten Werk, zu tun seinen Willen, und schaffe in euch, was vor ihm gefällig ist, durch Jesum Christum; welchem sei Ehre von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit! Amen.
22 Ich ermahne euch aber, liebe Brüder, haltet das Wort der Ermahnung zugute; denn ich habe euch kurz geschrieben.
23 Wisset, daß der Bruder Timotheus wieder frei ist; mit dem, so er bald kommt, will ich euch sehen.
24 Grüßet alle eure Lehrer und alle Heiligen. Es grüßen euch die Brüder aus Italien.
25 Die Gnade sei mit euch allen! Amen.

Final Exhortations
13 Brotherly love must continue. 2 Do not neglect hospitality, because through it some have entertained angels without knowing it.[a] 3 Remember those in prison as though you were in prison with them,[b] and those ill-treated as though you too felt their torment.[c] 4 Marriage must be honored among all and the marriage bed kept undefiled, for God will judge sexually immoral people and adulterers. 5 Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”[d] 6 So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, and[e] I will not be afraid. What can people do to me?”[f] 7 Remember your leaders, who spoke God’s message to you; reflect on the outcome of their lives and imitate their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever! 9 Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings.[g] For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals,[h] which have never benefited those who participated in them. 10 We have an altar that those who serve in the tabernacle have no right to eat from. 11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood the high priest brings[i] into the sanctuary as an offering for sin are burned outside the camp. 12 Therefore, to sanctify the people by his own blood, Jesus also suffered outside the camp. 13 We must go out to him, then, outside the camp, bearing the abuse he experienced.[j] 14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. 15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, acknowledging his name. 16 And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have,[k] for God is pleased with such sacrifices.
17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they keep watch over your souls and will give an account for their work.[l] Let them do this[m] with joy and not with complaints, for this would be no advantage for you. 18 Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience and desire to conduct ourselves rightly in every respect. 19 I especially ask you to pray[n] that I may be restored to you very soon.
Benediction and Conclusion
20 Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus, 21 equip you with every good thing to do his will, working in us[o] what is pleasing before him through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever.[p] Amen.
22 Now I urge you, brothers and sisters,[q] bear with my message of exhortation, for in fact I have written to you briefly. 23 You should know that[r] our brother Timothy has been released. If he comes soon, he will be with me when I see you.[s] 24 Greetings to all your leaders and all the saints. Those from Italy send you greetings. 25 Grace be with you all.[t]

- Hebrews 13:21 tc ‡ Most mss (א A [C*] 0243 0285 33 1739 1881 M latt) include the words “and ever” here, but the shorter reading (supported by P46 C3 D Ψ 6 104 365 1505 al) is preferred on internal grounds. It seemed more likely that scribes would assimilate the wording to the common NT doxological expression “for ever and ever,” found especially in the Apocalypse (cf., e.g., 1 Tim 1:17; 2 Tim 4:18; Rev 4:9; 22:5) than to the “forever” of Heb 13:8. Nevertheless, a decision is difficult here. NA28 places the phrase in brackets, indicating doubts as to its authenticity.

- Hebrews 13:23 tn Grk “Know that” (an imperative).

- Hebrews 13:25 tc Most witnesses, including several significant ones (א2 A C D H Ψ 0243 1739 1881 M lat sy bo), conclude the letter with ἀμήν (amēn, “amen”). Such a conclusion is routinely added by scribes to NT books because a few of these books originally had such an ending (cf. Rom 16:27; Gal 6:18; Jude 25). A majority of Greek witnesses have the concluding ἀμήν in every NT book except Acts, James, and 3 John (and even in these books, ἀμήν is found in some witnesses). It is thus a predictable variant. Further, there is sufficient testimony (P46 א* Ivid 6 33 sa) for the lack of the particle, rendering its omission the preferred reading.

Concluding Exhortations
13 Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters.(A) 2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers,(B) for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.(C) 3 Continue to remember those in prison(D) as if you were together with them in prison, and those who are mistreated as if you yourselves were suffering.
4 Marriage should be honored by all,(E) and the marriage bed kept pure, for God will judge the adulterer and all the sexually immoral.(F) 5 Keep your lives free from the love of money(G) and be content with what you have,(H) because God has said,
6 So we say with confidence,
7 Remember your leaders,(K) who spoke the word of God(L) to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate(M) their faith. 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.(N)
9 Do not be carried away by all kinds of strange teachings.(O) It is good for our hearts to be strengthened(P) by grace, not by eating ceremonial foods,(Q) which is of no benefit to those who do so.(R) 10 We have an altar from which those who minister at the tabernacle(S) have no right to eat.(T)
