²⁰ Then he said, “This blood confirms the covenant God has made with you.”^[a]

²⁸ for this is my blood, which confirms the covenant^[a] between God and his people. It is poured out as a sacrifice to forgive the sins of many.

⁸ Then Moses took the blood from the basins and splattered it over the people, declaring, “Look, this blood confirms the covenant the Lord has made with you in giving you these instructions.”

¹² You are standing here today to enter into the covenant of the Lord your God. The Lord is making this covenant, including the curses.

⁶ When they arrived at the camp of Israel at Gilgal, they told Joshua and the men of Israel, “We have come from a distant land to ask you to make a peace treaty with us.”
