The Earthly Sanctuary^(A)

9 Then indeed, even the first covenant had ordinances of divine service and ^(B)the earthly sanctuary.

⁸ And let them make Me a ^(A)sanctuary,^[a] that ^(B)I may dwell among them.

¹⁰ concerned only with ^(A)foods and drinks, ^(B)various ^[a]washings, ^(C)and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation.

The Heavenly Sanctuary

¹¹ But Christ came as High Priest of ^(D)the good things ^[b]to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.

² a Minister of ^(A)the ^[a]sanctuary and of ^(B)the true tabernacle which the Lord erected, and not man.

³⁰ ‘Therefore you shall keep My ^[a]ordinance, so ^(A)that you do not commit any of these abominable customs which were committed before you, and that you do not defile yourselves by them: ^(B)I am the Lord your God.’ ”

⁹ ‘They shall therefore keep ^(A)My ^[a]ordinance, ^(B)lest they bear sin for it and die thereby, if they profane it: I the Lord sanctify them.

^3 (A)According to ^[a]the doings of the land of Egypt, where you dwelt, you shall not do; and ^(B)according to the doings of the land of Canaan, where I am bringing you, you shall not do; nor shall you walk in their ^[b]ordinances. ^4 (C)You shall observe My judgments and keep My ordinances, to walk in them: I am the Lord your God.

A New Covenant^(A)

⁷ For if that ^(B)first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

⁸ Beware lest anyone ^[a]cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to ^(A)the tradition of men, according to the ^(B)basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
