The Earthly Holy Place

9 Now even the first covenant had regulations for worship and ^(A)an earthly place of holiness.

⁸ And let them make me a ^(A)sanctuary, that ^(B)I may dwell in their midst.

¹⁰ but deal only with ^(A)food and drink and ^(B)various washings, regulations for the body imposed until the time of reformation.

Redemption Through the Blood of Christ

¹¹ But when Christ appeared as a high priest ^(C)of the good things that have come,^[a] then through ^(D)the greater and more perfect tent (^(E)not made with hands, that is, not of this creation)

² a minister in the holy places, in ^(A)the true tent^[a] that the Lord ^(B)set up, not man.

^30 (A)So keep my charge never to practice ^(B)any of these abominable customs that were practiced before you, and never to make yourselves unclean by them: ^(C)I am the Lord your God.”

⁹ They shall therefore keep my charge, ^(A)lest they bear sin for it and die thereby when they profane it: ^(B)I am the Lord who sanctifies them.

^3 (A)You shall not do as they do in the land of Egypt, where you lived, and ^(B)you shall not do as they do in the land of Canaan, to which I am bringing you. You shall not walk in their statutes. ^4 (C)You shall follow my rules^[a] and keep my statutes and walk in them. ^(D)I am the Lord your God.

^7 (A)For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no occasion to look for a second.

⁸ See to it that no one takes you captive by ^(A)philosophy and ^(B)empty deceit, according to ^(C)human tradition, according to the ^(D)elemental spirits^[a] of the world, and not according to Christ.
