³ For ^(A)every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore ^(B)it is necessary that this One also have something to offer.

Qualifications for High Priesthood

5 For every high priest taken from among men ^(A)is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.

² And ^(A)walk in love, ^(B)as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God ^(C)for a sweet-smelling aroma.

¹⁴ how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without ^[a]spot to God, ^(A)cleanse your conscience from ^(B)dead works ^(C)to serve the living God?

⁹ then He said, “Behold, I have come to do Your will, ^[a]O God.” He takes away the first that He may establish the second. ^10 (A)By that will we have been ^[b]sanctified ^(B)through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

Christ’s Death Perfects the Sanctified

¹¹ And every priest stands ^(C)ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. ^12 (D)But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down ^(E)at the right hand of God,

²⁷ who does not need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His ^(A)own sins and then for the people’s, for this He did once for all when He offered up Himself.

^14 (A)who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed ^(B)and purify for Himself ^(C)His own special people, zealous for good works.

⁵¹ I am the living bread ^(A)which came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever; and ^(B)the bread that I shall give is My flesh, which I shall give for the life of the world.”
