² a minister in the holy places, in ^(A)the true tent^[a] that the Lord ^(B)set up, not man.

²³ Thus it was necessary for ^(A)the copies of the heavenly things to be purified with these rites, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. ²⁴ For Christ has entered, not into holy places ^(B)made with hands, which are copies of the true things, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God ^(C)on our behalf.

Our Heavenly Dwelling

5 For we know that if ^(A)the tent that is ^(B)our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, ^(C)a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

⁸ For I tell you that Christ ^(A)became a servant to the circumcised to show God's truthfulness, in order ^(B)to confirm the promises given to the patriarchs,

The Tent of Meeting

⁷ Now Moses used to take the tent and pitch it outside the camp, far off from the camp, and ^(A)he called it the tent of meeting. And everyone who ^(B)sought the Lord would go out to the tent of meeting, which was outside the camp.

¹⁰ For he was looking forward to ^(A)the city that has ^(B)foundations, ^(C)whose designer and builder is God.

²¹ and since we have ^(A)a great priest over the house of God,

⁸ By this the Holy Spirit indicates that ^(A)the way into the holy places is not yet opened as long as the first section is still standing ⁹ (which is symbolic for the present age).^[a] According to this arrangement, gifts and sacrifices are offered ^(B)that cannot perfect the conscience of the worshiper, ¹⁰ but deal only with ^(C)food and drink and ^(D)various washings, regulations for the body imposed until the time of reformation.

Redemption Through the Blood of Christ

¹¹ But when Christ appeared as a high priest ^(E)of the good things that have come,^[b] then through ^(F)the greater and more perfect tent (^(G)not made with hands, that is, not of this creation) ¹² he ^(H)entered ^(I)once for all into the holy places, not by means of ^(J)the blood of goats and calves but ^(K)by means of his own blood, ^(L)thus securing an eternal redemption.

¹¹ In him also ^(A)you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by ^(B)putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,
