²⁸ For the law appoints men ^(A)in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made ^(B)perfect forever.

²¹ but this one was made a priest with an oath by the one who said to him:

¹⁰ For it ^(A)was fitting that he, ^(B)for whom and by whom all things exist, in bringing many sons ^(C)to glory, should make the ^(D)founder of their salvation ^(E)perfect through suffering.

² but ^(A)in these last days ^(B)he has spoken to us by ^(C)his Son, whom he appointed ^(D)the heir of all things, ^(E)through whom also he created ^(F)the world.

5 For every high priest chosen from among men ^(A)is appointed to act on behalf of men ^(B)in relation to God, ^(C)to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. ^2 (D)He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself ^(E)is beset with weakness.

⁶ but Christ is faithful over God's house as ^(A)a son. And ^(B)we are his house, if indeed we ^(C)hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.^[a]

²⁴ but he holds his priesthood permanently, because he continues ^(A)forever.

³ He is without father or mother ^(A)or genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but resembling the Son of God he continues a priest forever.

⁸ Although ^(A)he was a son, ^(B)he learned obedience through what he suffered. ⁹ And ^(C)being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him,
