¹⁹ This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, ^(A)and which enters the Presence behind the veil,

^5 (A)Now hope does not disappoint, ^(B)because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

Christ in Our Place

⁶ For when we were still without strength, ^[a]in due time ^(C)Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ For scarcely for a righteous man will one die; yet perhaps for a good man someone would even dare to die. ⁸ But ^(D)God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. ⁹ Much more then, having now been justified ^(E)by His blood, we shall be saved ^(F)from wrath through Him. ¹⁰ For ^(G)if when we were enemies ^(H)we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved ^(I)by His life.

²⁸ And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those ^(A)who are the called according to His purpose. ²⁹ For whom ^(B)He foreknew, ^(C)He also predestined ^(D)to be conformed to the image of His Son, ^(E)that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. ³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also ^(F)called; whom He called, these He also ^(G)justified; and whom He justified, these He also ^(H)glorified.

God’s Everlasting Love

³¹ What then shall we say to these things? ^(I)If God is for us, who can be against us? ^32 (J)He who did not spare His own Son, but ^(K)delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall bring a charge against God’s elect? ^(L)It is God who justifies. ^34 (M)Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, ^(N)who is even at the right hand of God, ^(O)who also makes intercession for us. ³⁵ Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? ³⁶ As it is written:

^37 (Q)Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. ³⁸ For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor ^(R)principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, ³⁹ nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

^15 (A)“Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, bring its blood ^(B)inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat.

² and the Lord said to Moses: “Tell Aaron your brother ^(A)not to come at just any time into the Holy Place inside the veil, before the mercy seat which is on the ark, lest he die; for ^(B)I will appear in the cloud above the mercy seat.

⁷ But into the second part the high priest went alone ^(A)once a year, not without blood, which he offered for ^(B)himself and for the people’s sins committed in ignorance;

^3 (A)and behind the second veil, the part of the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of All,

⁵¹ Then, behold, ^(A)the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split,
