¹¹ And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence ^(A)to the full assurance of hope until the end,

¹⁰ Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent ^(A)to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble;

⁶ but Christ as ^(A)a Son over His own house, ^(B)whose house we are ^(C)if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope ^[a]firm to the end.

Fruitful Growth in the Faith

⁵ But also for this very reason, ^(A)giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue ^(B)knowledge, ⁶ to knowledge self-control, to self-control ^[a]perseverance, to perseverance godliness, ⁷ to godliness brotherly kindness, and ^(C)to brotherly kindness love. ⁸ For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither ^[b]barren ^(D)nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

^2 (A)through whom also we have access by faith into this grace ^(B)in which we stand, and ^(C)rejoice in hope of the glory of God. ³ And not only that, but ^(D)we also glory in tribulations, ^(E)knowing that tribulation produces ^[a]perseverance; ^4 (F)and perseverance, ^[b]character; and character, hope. ^5 (G)Now hope does not disappoint, ^(H)because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.

¹⁴ For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,

²² let us ^(A)draw near with a true heart ^(B)in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

¹⁴ We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love ^[a]his brother abides in death.

²⁶ And he who overcomes, and keeps ^(A)My works until the end, ^(B)to him I will give power over the nations—
