⁶ Since therefore it remains that some must enter it, and those to whom it was first preached did not enter because of disobedience,

¹⁸ And ^(A)to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who did not obey? ¹⁹ So we see that they could not enter in because of ^(B)unbelief.

⁴³ “Therefore I say to you, ^(A)the kingdom of God will be taken from you and given to a nation bearing the fruits of it.

² For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them; but the word which they heard did not profit them, ^[a]not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

²⁸ “Therefore let it be known to you that the salvation of God has been sent ^(A)to the Gentiles, and they will hear it!”

⁴⁶ Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, ^(A)“It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but ^(B)since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, ^(C)we turn to the Gentiles. ⁴⁷ For so the Lord has commanded us:

⁹ There remains therefore a rest for the people of God.

⁸ And ^(A)the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel to Abraham beforehand, saying, ^(B)“In you all the nations shall be blessed.”

⁹ Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.’ ¹⁰ So those servants went out into the highways and ^(A)gathered together all whom they found, both bad and good. And the wedding hall was filled with guests.

²¹ So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the ^[a]maimed and the lame and the blind.’ ²² And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ ²³ Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. ²⁴ For I say to you ^(A)that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’ ”
