¹⁰ For he who has entered His rest has himself also ceased from his works as God did from His.

¹³ Then I heard a voice from heaven saying ^[a]to me, “Write: ^(A)‘Blessed are the dead ^(B)who die in the Lord from now on.’ ”

“Yes,” says the Spirit, ^(C)“that they may rest from their labors, and their works follow ^(D)them.”

³ For we who have believed do enter that rest, as He has said:

although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. ⁴ For He has spoken in a certain place of the seventh day in this way: ^(B)“And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”;

Christ’s Example to Be Followed

4 Therefore, since Christ suffered ^[a]for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, ² that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, ^(A)but for the will of God.

^12 (A)But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down ^(B)at the right hand of God,

^3 (A)who being the brightness of His glory and the express ^(B)image of His person, and ^(C)upholding all things by the word of His power, ^(D)when He had ^[a]by Himself ^[b]purged ^[c]our sins, ^(E)sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

³⁰ So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ^(A)“It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.
