^4 (A)while God also bore witness ^(B)by signs and wonders and various miracles and by ^(C)gifts of the Holy Spirit ^(D)distributed according to his will.

³ So they remained for a long time, speaking boldly for ^(A)the Lord, who bore witness to ^(B)the word of his grace, ^(C)granting signs and wonders to be done by their hands.

⁴ Now ^(A)there are varieties of gifts, but ^(B)the same Spirit; ⁵ and ^(C)there are varieties of service, but ^(D)the same Lord; ⁶ and there are varieties of activities, but it is ^(E)the same God who empowers them all in everyone. ^7 (F)To each is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. ⁸ For to one is given through the Spirit the utterance of ^(G)wisdom, and to another the utterance of ^(H)knowledge according to the same Spirit, ⁹ to another ^(I)faith by the same Spirit, to another ^(J)gifts of healing by the one Spirit, ¹⁰ to another ^(K)the working of miracles, to another ^(L)prophecy, to another ^(M)the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another ^(N)various kinds of tongues, to another ^(O)the interpretation of tongues. ¹¹ All these are empowered by one and the same Spirit, ^(P)who apportions to each one individually ^(Q)as he wills.

⁸ Therefore it says,

⁹ (^(C)In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into ^(D)the lower regions, the earth?^{[b] 10} He who descended is the one who also ^(E)ascended ^(F)far above all the heavens, that he might ^(G)fill all things.) ¹¹ And ^(H)he gave the ^(I)apostles, the prophets, the ^(J)evangelists, the ^(K)shepherds^[c] and teachers,^[d]

^5 (A)he predestined us^[a] for ^(B)adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, ^(C)according to the purpose of his will,

¹⁸ For I will not venture to speak of anything except ^(A)what Christ has accomplished through me ^(B)to bring the Gentiles to obedience—by word and deed, ^19 (C)by the power of signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God—so that ^(D)from Jerusalem and all the way around ^(E)to Illyricum I have fulfilled the ministry of the gospel of Christ;

¹¹ And ^(A)God was doing extraordinary miracles by the hands of Paul, ^12 (B)so that even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his skin were carried away to the sick, and their diseases left them and ^(C)the evil spirits came out of them.

⁴⁸ So Jesus said to him, ^(A)“Unless you^[a] see signs and wonders you will not believe.”

²⁰ And they went out and preached everywhere, while ^(A)the Lord worked with them and confirmed ^(B)the message ^(C)by accompanying signs.]]
