¹⁴ Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise ^(A)partook of the same things, that ^(B)through death he might ^(C)destroy ^(D)the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil,

¹⁰ and which now has ^(A)been manifested through ^(B)the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, ^(C)who abolished death and ^(D)brought life and ^(E)immortality to light through the gospel,

³ For ^(A)God has done what the law, ^(B)weakened by the flesh, ^(C)could not do. ^(D)By sending his own Son ^(E)in the likeness of sinful flesh and ^(F)for sin,^[a] he condemned sin in the flesh,

^15 (A)He disarmed the rulers and authorities^[a] and ^(B)put them to open shame, by ^(C)triumphing over them in him.^[b]

¹⁴ And ^(A)the Word ^(B)became flesh and ^(C)dwelt among us, ^(D)and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son^[a] from the Father, full of ^(E)grace and ^(F)truth.

⁵⁴ When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written:

⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin, and ^(C)the power of sin is the law. ⁵⁷ But thanks be to God, ^(D)who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Mystery and Victory

⁵⁰ I tell you this, brothers: ^(A)flesh and blood ^(B)cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

^31 (A)Now is the judgment of this world; now will ^(B)the ruler of this world ^(C)be cast out. ³² And I, ^(D)when I am lifted up from the earth, ^(E)will draw ^(F)all people to myself.” ³³ He said this ^(G)to show by what kind of death he was going to die.
