³ Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners,^[a] so that you may not grow weary in your souls or lose heart.^(A)

⁹ So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up.^(A)

Living by Faith

¹⁶ So we do not lose heart. Even though our outer nature is wasting away, our inner nature is being renewed day by day.^(A)

⁵⁸ Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord because you know that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.^(A)

³ I also know that you are enduring and bearing up for the sake of my name and that you have not grown weary.^(A)

² looking to Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith, who for the sake of^[a] the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has taken his seat at the right hand of the throne of God.^(A)

The World’s Hatred

¹⁸ “If the world hates you, be aware that it hated me before it hated you.^{(A) 19} If you belonged to the world, the world would love you as its own.
