The Discipline of God^(A)

^3 (B)For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, ^(C)lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.

⁹ And ^(A)let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap ^(B)if we do not lose heart.

Seeing the Invisible

¹⁶ Therefore we ^(A)do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is ^(B)being renewed day by day.

^58 (A)Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing ^(B)that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

³ and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name’s sake and have ^(A)not become weary.

² looking unto Jesus, the ^[a]author and ^[b]finisher of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before Him ^(B)endured the cross, despising the shame, and ^(C)has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our confession, Christ Jesus,

The World’s Hatred

^18 (A)“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. ^19 (B)If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet ^(C)because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you, ^(D)‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. ^(E)If they kept My word, they will keep yours also. ²¹ But ^(F)all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me. ^22 (G)If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, ^(H)but now they have no excuse for their sin. ^23 (I)He who hates Me hates My Father also. ²⁴ If I had not done among them ^(J)the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have ^(K)seen and also hated both Me and My Father.

4 Therefore, since we have this ministry, ^(A)as we have received mercy, we ^(B)do not lose heart.
