Do Not Grow Weary

^3 (A)Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or ^(B)fainthearted.

⁹ And ^(A)let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, ^(B)if we do not give up.

¹⁶ So we do not lose heart. ^(A)Though our outer self^[a] is wasting away, ^(B)our inner self ^(C)is being renewed day by day.

^58 (A)Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in ^(B)the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord ^(C)your labor is not in vain.

³ I know you are enduring patiently and bearing up ^(A)for my name's sake, and you ^(B)have not grown weary.

² looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, ^(A)who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising ^(B)the shame, and ^(C)is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

3 Therefore, holy brothers,^[a] you who share in ^(A)a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, ^(B)the apostle and high priest of our confession,

The Hatred of the World

^18 (A)“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. ^19 (B)If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because ^(C)you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. ²⁰ Remember the word that I said to you: ^(D)‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, ^(E)they will also persecute you. ^(F)If they kept my word, they will also keep yours. ²¹ But ^(G)all these things they will do to you ^(H)on account of my name, ^(I)because they do not know him who sent me. ²² If I had not come and spoken to them, ^(J)they would not have been guilty of sin,^[a] but now they have no excuse for their sin. ^23 (K)Whoever hates me hates my Father also. ^24 (L)If I had not done among them the works that no one else did, ^(M)they would not be guilty of sin, but now they have ^(N)seen and hated both me and my Father.

4 Therefore, having ^(A)this ministry ^(B)by the mercy of God,^[a] we do not lose heart.
