⁵ By faith ^(A)Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God.

²¹ When Enoch had lived 65 years, he fathered Methuselah. ²² Enoch ^(A)walked with God^[a] after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters. ²³ Thus all the days of Enoch were 365 years. ²⁴ Enoch ^(B)walked with God, and he was not,^{[b] (C)}for God took him.

¹⁴ It was also about these that Enoch, ^(A)the seventh from Adam, prophesied, saying, ^(B)“Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of his holy ones,

¹¹ And as they still went on and talked, behold, ^(A)chariots of fire and horses of fire separated the two of them. And Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.

⁹ For three and a half days some from the peoples and tribes and languages and nations will gaze at their dead bodies and ^(A)refuse to let them be placed in a tomb, ¹⁰ and ^(B)those who dwell on the earth will rejoice over them and make merry and ^(C)exchange presents, because these two prophets ^(D)had been a torment to those who dwell on the earth. ¹¹ But after the three and a half days ^(E)a breath of life from God entered them, and they stood up on their feet, and great fear fell on those who saw them. ¹² Then they heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, ^(F)“Come up here!” And ^(G)they went up to heaven ^(H)in a cloud, and their enemies watched them.

⁶ And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God ^(A)must believe that he exists and ^(B)that he rewards those who seek him.

¹⁶ And they said to him, “Behold now, there are with your servants fifty strong men. Please let them go and seek your master. It may be that ^(A)the Spirit of the Lord has caught him up and cast him upon some mountain or into some valley.” And he said, “You shall not send.” ¹⁷ But when they urged him ^(B)till he was ashamed, he said, “Send.” They sent therefore fifty men. And for three days they sought him but did not find him.

⁵¹ Truly, truly, ^(A)I say to you, if anyone keeps my word, he will never ^(B)see death.” ⁵² The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you have a demon! ^(C)Abraham died, as did the prophets, yet ^(D)you say, ‘If anyone keeps my word, he will never ^(E)taste death.’
