³² But ^(A)recall the former days in which, after you were ^[a]illuminated, you endured a great struggle with sufferings:

⁴ For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted ^(A)the heavenly gift, and ^(B)have become partakers of the Holy Spirit,

^4 (A)You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

^7 (A)I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. ⁸ Finally, there is laid up for me ^(B)the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous ^(C)Judge, will give to me ^(D)on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

³ Are you so foolish? ^(A)Having begun in the Spirit, are you now being made perfect by ^(B)the flesh? ^4 (C)Have you suffered so ^[a]many things in vain—if indeed it was in vain?

^8 (A)Look to yourselves, ^(B)that ^[a]we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

³ You therefore must ^(A)endure^[a] hardship ^(B)as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. ^4 (C)No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier. ⁵ And also ^(D)if anyone competes in athletics, he is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. ⁶ The hardworking farmer must be first to partake of the crops. ⁷ Consider what I say, and ^[b]may the Lord ^(E)give you understanding in all things.

⁸ Remember that Jesus Christ, ^(F)of the seed of David, ^(G)was raised from the dead ^(H)according to my gospel, ^9 (I)for which I suffer trouble as an evildoer, ^(J)even to the point of chains; ^(K)but the word of God is not chained. ¹⁰ Therefore ^(L)I endure all things for the sake of the ^[c]elect, ^(M)that they also may obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

¹¹ This is a faithful saying:

¹⁶ Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already ^[a]attained, ^(A)let us walk ^(B)by the same ^[b]rule, let us be of the same mind.

²⁹ For to you ^(A)it has been granted on behalf of Christ, ^(B)not only to believe in Him, but also to ^(C)suffer for His sake, ^30 (D)having the same conflict ^(E)which you saw in me and now hear is in me.
