The Son Is Superior to Angels

⁵ For to which of the angels did God^[a] ever say,

Or again,

⁵ So also Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest but was appointed by^[a] the one who said to him,

³³ he has fulfilled for us, their children,^[a] by raising Jesus; as also it is written in the second psalm,

¹⁴ I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me. When he commits iniquity, I will punish him with a rod such as mortals use, with blows inflicted by human beings.^(A)

¹⁰ He shall build a house for my name. He shall be a son to me, and I will be a father to him, and I will establish his royal throne in Israel forever.’^(A)

¹³ I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me. I will not take my steadfast love from him, as I took it from him who was before you,^(A)

⁶ He said to me, ‘It is your son Solomon who shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be a son to me, and I will be a father to him.^(A)
