² has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the ^[a]worlds;

¹⁶ But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

The Day of the Lord

¹⁰ But ^(A)the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which ^(B)the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be ^[a]burned up. ¹¹ Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be ^(C)in holy conduct and godliness, ^12 (D)looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will ^(E)be dissolved, being on fire, and the elements will ^(F)melt with fervent heat?

Deceptions of the Last Hour

^18 (A)Little children, ^(B)it is the last hour; and as you have heard that ^(C)the^[a] Antichrist is coming, ^(D)even now many antichrists have come, by which we know ^(E)that it is the last hour.

^48 (A)He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—^(B)the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day.

¹⁷ Therefore, if anyone ^(A)is in Christ, he is ^(B)a new creation; ^(C)old things have passed away; behold, all things have become ^(D)new.

²⁷ For ^(A)the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father ^(B)with His angels, ^(C)and then He will reward each according to his works. ²⁸ Assuredly, I say to you, ^(D)there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.”

The Transfiguration of Christ^(A)

9 And He said to them, ^(B)“Assuredly, I say to you that there are some standing here who will not taste death till they see ^(C)the kingdom of God ^[a]present with power.”

^26 (A)For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, of him the Son of Man will be ^(B)ashamed when He comes in His own glory, and in His Father’s, and of the holy angels. ^27 (C)But I tell you truly, there are some standing here who shall not taste death till they see the kingdom of God.”
