“In the beginning, Lord, you founded the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands;^(A)

²⁵ Long ago you laid the foundation of the earth,
    and the heavens are the work of your hands.^(A)
26 They will perish, but you endure;
    they will all wear out like a garment.
You change them like clothing, and they pass away,^(B)
27     but you are the same, and your years have no end.^(C)

³ When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,
    the moon and the stars that you have established;^(A)
4 what are humans that you are mindful of them,
    mortals^[a] that you care for them?^(B)

⁵ Thus says God, the Lord,
    who created the heavens and stretched them out,
    who spread out the earth and what comes from it,
who gives breath to the people upon it
    and spirit to those who walk in it:^(A)
