18 For, on the one hand, there is the nullification of a former commandment (A)because of its weakness and uselessness 19 (for (B)the Law made nothing perfect); on the other hand, there is the introduction of a better (C)hope, through which we (D)come near to God. 20 And to the extent that it was not without an oath 21 (for they indeed became priests without an oath, but He with an oath through the One who said to Him,

And (F)will not change His mind,

18 The former regulation is set aside because it was weak and useless(A) 19 (for the law made nothing perfect),(B) and a better hope(C) is introduced, by which we draw near to God.(D)

20 And it was not without an oath! Others became priests without any oath, 21 but he became a priest with an oath when God said to him:
