Paulus in Ikonium
14 Ook in Ikonium gingen ze de synagoge van de Joden in. Door wat ze daar vertelden, ging een groot aantal Joden en Grieken in Jezus geloven. 2 Maar de Joden die niet wilden luisteren, stookten de Grieken tegen Paulus en Barnabas op.
3 Paulus en Barnabas bleven daar vrij lang. Vol vertrouwen op de Heer spraken ze over Jezus. Ook deden ze veel wonderen. Daarmee bewees de Heer dat het waar was wat ze zeiden. 4 Maar de mensen in de stad raakten verdeeld. Sommigen waren voor de Joden, anderen voor de apostelen. 5 Er ontstond een rel. Grieken en Joden met hun leiders dromden op de apostelen af. Ze waren van plan hen te mishandelen en met stenen dood te gooien. 6 De apostelen merkten het op tijd. Ze vluchtten naar de steden Lystra en Derbe in de streek Lykaonië. 7 Daar vertelden ze een tijd lang het goede nieuws.
Een verlamde man in Lystra wordt genezen
8 In Lystra woonde een man die al vanaf zijn geboorte verlamde voeten had. Hij had nog nooit gelopen. 9 Deze man luisterde naar Paulus als hij sprak. Paulus keek hem goed aan. Hij zag dat de man geloof had om genezen te worden. 10 Toen zei Paulus luid: "Ga op je voeten staan!" En de man sprong overeind en liep heen en weer. 11 Toen de grote groep mensen zag wat Paulus had gedaan, juichten de mensen in het Lykaonisch: "De goden zijn naar ons toe gekomen, vermomd als mensen!" 12 Ze dachten dat Barnabas de Griekse oppergod Zeus was en Paulus Hermes, de boodschapper van de Griekse goden, omdat hij het woord deed. 13 Vlak bij de stad stond een tempel voor Zeus. En de priester van die tempel bracht stieren en kransen naar de stadspoort om met de mensen een offerfeest voor Paulus en Barnabas te gaan houden.
14 Maar toen Barnabas en Paulus dat hoorden, scheurden ze hun kleren. Ze sprongen tussen de mensen in en riepen tegen hen: 15 "Wat zijn jullie aan het doen? Ook wij zijn maar gewone mensen! Houd alsjeblieft op met het aanbidden van deze machteloze goden! Ga voortaan de levende God dienen! Hij heeft de hemel, de aarde, de zee en alles gemaakt. 16 Vroeger liet Hij de volken hun eigen gang gaan. 17 Maar ook toen al liet Hij de mensen zien dat Hij er is. Want Hij was goed voor jullie en gaf jullie de zon en de regen en goede oogsten, zodat jullie blij konden zijn." 18 Maar zelfs met deze woorden konden ze de mensen maar net tegenhouden om een offerfeest voor hen te houden.
19 Maar toen kwamen er Joden uit Antiochië en Ikonium. Ze stookten de mensen weer op en bekogelden Paulus met stenen. Ze sleepten hem de stad uit en dachten dat hij dood was. 20 Maar toen de leerlingen om hem heen waren komen staan, stond hij op en ging de stad weer in. De volgende dag vertrok hij met Barnabas naar Derbe.
Terug naar Lystra, Ikonium en Antiochië
21 Ook in Derbe vertelden ze het goede nieuws. Ze maakten er een groot aantal leerlingen. Daarna gingen ze terug naar Lystra, Ikonium en Antiochië in Pisidië. 22 Want ze wilden de leerlingen daar aanmoedigen om het geloof vast te houden. En ze vertelden hun dat we allemaal veel moeilijkheden zullen meemaken als we het Koninkrijk van God willen binnengaan. 23 Daarna wezen ze in elke gemeente leiders aan. Ze baden de hele dag, zonder te eten, en vertrouwden hen daarna toe aan de Heer in wie ze geloofden.
24 Daarna reisden ze door Pisidië naar Pamfilië. 25 Daar vertelden ze het woord in de stad Perge. Van Perge reisden ze naar Attalia. 26 Van daar voeren ze naar Antiochië in Syrië vanwaar de mensen hen hadden uitgezonden voor het werk dat ze nu hadden gedaan. 27 Toen ze daar aankwamen, riepen ze de gemeente bij elkaar. Ze vertelden over alle geweldige dingen die God door hen had gedaan. Ze vertelden dat Hij ook voor niet-Joodse mensen de deur van het geloof had opengedaan. 28 Ze bleven daar een tijdlang bij de leerlingen.

14 保罗和巴拿巴在以哥念时，又像往常一样去了犹太会堂。他们讲的非常精彩以至于使许多犹太人和非犹太人相信了。 2 那些不信的犹太人却挑唆外族人，对兄弟（信徒）们反感。 3 保罗和巴拿巴在那儿住了很久，他们勇敢地为主说话。通过主使他们能够行奇事和神迹，主证实了他的恩典的信息是真实的。 4 以哥念城里的人发生了分歧，一些人站在犹太人一边，另一些人站在使徒一边。
5 外族人和犹太人与他们的领袖一起要虐待保罗和巴拿巴，要用石头砸他们。 6 保罗和巴拿巴听到这个消息后，便逃到了吕高尼的路司得、特庇两个地方和周围的一些地方去了。 7 在那儿，他们继续传播福音 [a]。

8 有一个脚有残疾的人坐在路司得。他天生就瘸，从未走过路。 9 这个人聆听着保罗讲话，保罗直视着他，看出他有被治愈的信念。 10 于是便大声地说∶“起来，两脚站直！”瘸脚的人一跃而起，开始走路了。 11 人群看见了保罗所做的事情，便用吕高尼语大声地说∶“神变得像人一样，下到我们中间了！” 12 他们便称巴拿巴为丢斯，称保罗为希耳米，因为他是主讲。 13 丢斯殿就在城外，丢斯的祭司便把牛、花环都拿到了城门，他和众人想把它们祭献给保罗和巴拿巴。
14 使徒保罗和巴拿巴听说这个消息后，气得撕了衣服。他们冲进人群，大声说∶ 15 “人们啊，为什么这么做呢？我们也是人，和你们一样的人，我们来要告诉你们福音，为的是使你们离弃这些毫无价值的东西，而归向活生生的上帝，他创造了天空、大地、海洋和其中的一切。 16 在过去的时代里，他让各民族各行其是。 17 但是，他总是借着所行的善事留下自己的证据。他从天上降雨给你们，赐给你们丰收的季节。他赐给你们食物，让你们心中充满快乐。” 18 尽管他们这么说，他们几乎没有阻止住人们向他们祭献。
19 这时，从安提阿和以哥念来的一些犹太人说服众人加入了他们的行列，这帮人用石头打保罗，把他拖出城，以为他已经死了。 20 当门徒聚到保罗的身边时，他站起身进城去了。第二天，他和巴拿巴离开，前往特庇。

21 保罗和巴拿巴在特庇城宣讲福音，在那里他们又使很多人成为基督教徒，然后他们又回到了路司得、以哥念和安提阿。 22 他们加强了门徒的力量，鼓励他们继续忠于信仰。他们说∶“在进入上帝王国之前，我们必须经历种种苦难。” 23 保罗和巴拿巴在每一个教会为他们任命了长老。在祷告和禁食中，把他们交托给他们信仰的主。
24 他们经过彼西底，来到了旁非利亚， 25 他们在别加宣讲信息后，又南下到了亚大利。 26 然后又从那里坐船到了安提阿。当初，就在这个地方，他们被托付在上帝的恩典里，来从事现在已完成的工作。
27 他们一到，便把教会召集到一起，向他们汇报了上帝借他们所做的一切，以及上帝是怎样为外族人打开信仰之门的。 28 他们在那里和门徒住了很长一段时间。

14 At Iconium(A) Paul and Barnabas went as usual into the Jewish synagogue.(B) There they spoke so effectively that a great number(C) of Jews and Greeks believed. 2 But the Jews who refused to believe stirred up the other Gentiles and poisoned their minds against the brothers.(D) 3 So Paul and Barnabas spent considerable time there, speaking boldly(E) for the Lord, who confirmed the message of his grace by enabling them to perform signs and wonders.(F) 4 The people of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, others with the apostles.(G) 5 There was a plot afoot among both Gentiles and Jews,(H) together with their leaders, to mistreat them and stone them.(I) 6 But they found out about it and fled(J) to the Lycaonian cities of Lystra and Derbe and to the surrounding country, 7 where they continued to preach(K) the gospel.(L)
In Lystra and Derbe
8 In Lystra there sat a man who was lame. He had been that way from birth(M) and had never walked. 9 He listened to Paul as he was speaking. Paul looked directly at him, saw that he had faith to be healed(N) 10 and called out, “Stand up on your feet!”(O) At that, the man jumped up and began to walk.(P)
11 When the crowd saw what Paul had done, they shouted in the Lycaonian language, “The gods have come down to us in human form!”(Q) 12 Barnabas they called Zeus, and Paul they called Hermes because he was the chief speaker.(R) 13 The priest of Zeus, whose temple was just outside the city, brought bulls and wreaths to the city gates because he and the crowd wanted to offer sacrifices to them.
14 But when the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of this, they tore their clothes(S) and rushed out into the crowd, shouting: 15 “Friends, why are you doing this? We too are only human,(T) like you. We are bringing you good news,(U) telling you to turn from these worthless things(V) to the living God,(W) who made the heavens and the earth(X) and the sea and everything in them.(Y) 16 In the past, he let(Z) all nations go their own way.(AA) 17 Yet he has not left himself without testimony:(AB) He has shown kindness by giving you rain from heaven and crops in their seasons;(AC) he provides you with plenty of food and fills your hearts with joy.”(AD) 18 Even with these words, they had difficulty keeping the crowd from sacrificing to them.
19 Then some Jews(AE) came from Antioch and Iconium(AF) and won the crowd over. They stoned Paul(AG) and dragged him outside the city, thinking he was dead. 20 But after the disciples(AH) had gathered around him, he got up and went back into the city. The next day he and Barnabas left for Derbe.
The Return to Antioch in Syria
21 They preached the gospel(AI) in that city and won a large number(AJ) of disciples. Then they returned to Lystra, Iconium(AK) and Antioch, 22 strengthening the disciples and encouraging them to remain true to the faith.(AL) “We must go through many hardships(AM) to enter the kingdom of God,” they said. 23 Paul and Barnabas appointed elders[a](AN) for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting,(AO) committed them to the Lord,(AP) in whom they had put their trust. 24 After going through Pisidia, they came into Pamphylia,(AQ) 25 and when they had preached the word in Perga, they went down to Attalia.
26 From Attalia they sailed back to Antioch,(AR) where they had been committed to the grace of God(AS) for the work they had now completed.(AT) 27 On arriving there, they gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them(AU) and how he had opened a door(AV) of faith to the Gentiles. 28 And they stayed there a long time with the disciples.(AW)
