⁶ “This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘In a little while^(A) I will once more shake the heavens and the earth,^(B) the sea and the dry land.

²⁶ At that time his voice shook the earth,^(A) but now he has promised, “Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.”^{[a](B) 27} The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken^(C)—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

²⁸ Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken,^(D) let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,^(E)

²⁵ “There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.^{(A) 26} People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world, for the heavenly bodies will be shaken.^{(B) 27} At that time they will see the Son of Man^(C) coming in a cloud^(D) with power and great glory.

²⁴ “But in those days, following that distress,

²⁶ “At that time people will see the Son of Man coming in clouds^(B) with great power and glory.

²¹ “Tell Zerubbabel^(A) governor of Judah that I am going to shake^(B) the heavens and the earth. ²² I will overturn^(C) royal thrones and shatter the power of the foreign kingdoms.^(D) I will overthrow chariots^(E) and their drivers; horses and their riders^(F) will fall, each by the sword of his brother.^(G)
