⁵ Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: ^(A)“Consider your ways!

⁵ Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, ^(A)that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you ^[a]are ^(B)disqualified.

Promised Blessing

¹⁵ ‘And now, carefully ^(A)consider from this day forward: from before stone was laid upon stone in the temple of the Lord— ¹⁶ since those days, ^(B)when one came to a heap of twenty ephahs, there were but ten; when one came to the wine vat to draw out fifty baths from the press, there were but twenty. ^17 (C)I struck you with blight and mildew and hail ^(D)in all the labors of your hands; ^(E)yet you did not turn to Me,’ says the Lord. ¹⁸ ‘Consider now from this day forward, from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from ^(F)the day that the foundation of the Lord’s temple was laid—consider it:

⁷ Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways!

¹⁷ “But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

⁴ But ^(A)let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and ^(B)not in another.

²¹ But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.

¹² Then he said to me, ^(A)“Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, ^(B)your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

¹⁴ And the king, when he heard these words, ^(A)was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he ^[a]labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him.
