3 Oración del profeta Habacuc, en tono de Sigionot[a].
2 Oh Señor, he oído(A) lo que se dice de ti[b] y temí(B).
Aviva, oh Señor, tu obra[c] en medio de los años[d](C),
en medio de los años[e] dala a conocer;
en la ira, acuérdate de tener compasión(D).
3 Dios viene de Temán(E),
y el Santo, del monte Parán(F). (Selah[f])
Su esplendor cubre los cielos(G),
y de su alabanza está llena la tierra(H).
4 Su resplandor es como la luz(I);
tiene rayos que salen de su mano,
y allí se oculta su poder(J).
5 Delante de Él va la pestilencia(K),
y la plaga sigue sus pasos[g](L).
6 Se detuvo, e hizo temblar[h] la tierra,
miró e hizo estremecerse a las naciones(M).
Sí, se desmoronaron los montes perpetuos,
se hundieron[i](N) las colinas antiguas.
Sus caminos son eternos.
7 Bajo aflicción(O) vi las tiendas de Cusán,
temblaban las tiendas[j] de la tierra de Madián(P).
8 ¿Te indignaste[k], Señor, contra los ríos?
¿Contra los ríos(Q) fue tu ira,
contra el mar(R) tu furor,
cuando montaste en tus caballos(S),
en tus carros de victoria[l](T)?
9 Tu arco fue desnudado por completo(U),
las varas de castigo[m] fueron juradas. (Selah)
Con ríos hendiste la tierra(V);
10 te vieron los montes y temblaron,
el diluvio de aguas pasó;
dio el abismo su voz,
levantó en alto sus manos(W).
11 El sol y la luna se detuvieron en su sitio(X);
a la luz de tus saetas se fueron(Y),
al resplandor de tu lanza fulgurante.
12 Con indignación marchaste por la tierra(Z);
con ira hollaste[n](AA) las naciones.
13 Saliste para salvar a tu pueblo(AB),
para salvar a tu ungido(AC).
Destrozaste la cabeza de la casa del impío(AD),
descubriéndolo de arriba abajo[o]. (Selah)
14 Traspasaste con sus propios dardos(AE)
la cabeza de sus guerreros[p]
que irrumpieron para dispersarnos[q](AF);
su regocijo fue como el de los que devoran en secreto a los oprimidos(AG).
15 Marchaste por el mar con tus caballos(AH),
en el oleaje de las inmensas aguas(AI).
16 Oí, y se estremecieron mis entrañas[r](AJ);
a tu voz temblaron mis labios.
Entra podredumbre en mis huesos(AK),
y tiemblo donde estoy.
Tranquilo espero el día de la angustia(AL),
al pueblo que se levantará para invadirnos[s](AM).
17 Aunque la higuera no eche brotes,
ni haya fruto en las viñas(AN);
aunque falte el producto del olivo(AO),
y los campos no produzcan alimento;
aunque falten las ovejas del aprisco(AP),
y no haya vacas en los establos(AQ),
18 con todo yo me alegraré en el Señor(AR),
me regocijaré en el Dios de mi salvación(AS).
19 El Señor Dios[t] es mi fortaleza(AT);
Él ha hecho mis pies como los de las ciervas(AU),
y por las alturas(AV) me hace caminar.

2 Lord, I have heard(B) of your fame;
I stand in awe(C) of your deeds, Lord.(D)
Repeat(E) them in our day,
in our time make them known;
in wrath remember mercy.(F)
3 God came from Teman,(G)
the Holy One(H) from Mount Paran.[b](I)
His glory covered the heavens(J)
and his praise filled the earth.(K)
4 His splendor was like the sunrise;(L)
rays flashed from his hand,
where his power(M) was hidden.
5 Plague(N) went before him;
pestilence followed his steps.
6 He stood, and shook the earth;
he looked, and made the nations tremble.
The ancient mountains crumbled(O)
and the age-old hills(P) collapsed(Q)—
but he marches on forever.(R)
7 I saw the tents of Cushan in distress,
the dwellings of Midian(S) in anguish.(T)
8 Were you angry with the rivers,(U) Lord?
Was your wrath against the streams?
Did you rage against the sea(V)
when you rode your horses
and your chariots to victory?(W)
9 You uncovered your bow,
you called for many arrows.(X)
You split the earth with rivers;
10 the mountains saw you and writhed.(Y)
Torrents of water swept by;
the deep roared(Z)
and lifted its waves(AA) on high.
11 Sun and moon stood still(AB) in the heavens
at the glint of your flying arrows,(AC)
at the lightning(AD) of your flashing spear.
12 In wrath you strode through the earth
and in anger you threshed(AE) the nations.
13 You came out(AF) to deliver(AG) your people,
to save your anointed(AH) one.
You crushed(AI) the leader of the land of wickedness,
you stripped him from head to foot.
14 With his own spear you pierced his head
when his warriors stormed out to scatter us,(AJ)
gloating as though about to devour
the wretched(AK) who were in hiding.
15 You trampled the sea(AL) with your horses,
churning the great waters.(AM)
16 I heard and my heart pounded,
my lips quivered at the sound;
decay crept into my bones,
and my legs trembled.(AN)
Yet I will wait patiently(AO) for the day of calamity
to come on the nation invading us.
17 Though the fig tree does not bud
and there are no grapes on the vines,
though the olive crop fails
and the fields produce no food,(AP)
though there are no sheep in the pen
and no cattle in the stalls,(AQ)
18 yet I will rejoice in the Lord,(AR)
I will be joyful in God my Savior.(AS)
19 The Sovereign Lord is my strength;(AT)
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to tread on the heights.(AU)

and (B)your work, O Lord, do I fear.
In the midst of the years (C)revive it;
in the midst of the years make it known;
(D)in wrath remember mercy.
3 God came from (E)Teman,
(F)and the Holy One from Mount Paran. Selah
His splendor covered the heavens,
and the earth was full of his praise.
4 (G)His brightness was like the light;
rays flashed from his hand;
and there he veiled his power.
5 (H)Before him went pestilence,
and plague followed (I)at his heels.[a]
6 He stood (J)and measured the earth;
he looked and shook the nations;
then the (K)eternal mountains (L)were scattered;
the everlasting hills sank low.
His were (M)the everlasting ways.
7 I saw the tents of (N)Cushan in affliction;
(O)the curtains of the land of Midian did tremble.
8 (P)Was your wrath against the rivers, O Lord?
Was your anger against the rivers,
(Q)or your indignation against the sea,

9 You stripped the sheath from your bow,

10 (U)The mountains saw you and writhed;
the raging waters swept on;
(V)the deep gave forth its voice;
(W)it lifted its hands on high.
11 (X)The sun and moon stood still in their place
(Y)at the light of your arrows as they sped,
at the flash of your glittering spear.
12 (Z)You marched through the earth in fury;
(AA)you threshed the nations in anger.
13 (AB)You went out for the salvation of your people,
for the salvation of (AC)your anointed.
(AD)You crushed the head of the house of the wicked,
laying him bare from thigh to neck.[c] Selah
14 You pierced with his own arrows the heads of his warriors,
who came like a whirlwind to scatter me,
rejoicing as if to devour the poor in secret.
15 (AE)You trampled the sea with your horses,
the surging of mighty waters.
16 (AF)I hear, and (AG)my body trembles;
my lips quiver at the sound;
(AH)rottenness enters into my bones;
my legs tremble beneath me.
Yet (AI)I will quietly wait for the day of trouble
to come upon people who invade us.
Habakkuk Rejoices in the Lord
17 Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
18 (AJ)yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
(AK)I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
19 God, the Lord, is my strength;
(AL)he makes my feet like the deer's;
he makes me (AM)tread on my (AN)high places.
