Habakkuk 2:2-4
New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition
2 Then the Lord answered me and said:
Write the vision;
make it plain on tablets,
so that a runner may read it.(A)
3 For there is still a vision for the appointed time;
it speaks of the end and does not lie.
If it seems to tarry, wait for it;
it will surely come; it will not delay.(B)
4 Look at the proud!
Their spirit is not right in them,
but the righteous live by their faithfulness.(C)

The Lord responds
2 Then the Lord answered me and said,
Write a vision, and make it plain upon a tablet
so that a runner can read it.[a]
3 There is still a vision for the appointed time;
it testifies to the end;
it does not deceive.[b]
If it delays, wait for it;
for it is surely coming; it will not be late.
4 Some people’s desires are truly audacious;[c]
they don’t do the right thing.
But the righteous person will live honestly.
