Habakkuk 2:2-4
New American Standard Bible
2 Then the Lord answered me and said,
“(A)Write down the vision
And inscribe it clearly on tablets,
So that one who [a]reads it may run.
3 For the vision is yet for the (B)appointed time;
It [b]hurries toward the goal and it will not [c]fail.
Though it delays, (C)wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it (D)will not delay long.
4 “Behold, as for the (E)impudent one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the (F)righteous one will live by his [d]faith.

International Standard Version
God’s Reply to the Prophet’s Complaint
2 When he answered, the Lord told me:
“Write out the revelation,
engraving it clearly on the tablets,
so that a courier may run with it.[a]
3 For the revelation pertains to an appointed time—
it speaks truthfully[b] about the end.
Though it delays, wait for it,
because it will surely come about—
it will not be late!
4 “Notice their[c] arrogance—
they have no inward uprightness[d]—
but the righteous will live by their faith.
