Then the Lord answered me and said,
(A)Record the vision
And inscribe it on tablets,
That [a]the one who [b]reads it may run.
“For the vision is yet for the (B)appointed time;
It [c]hastens toward the goal and it will not [d]fail.
Though it tarries, (C)wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it (D)will not delay.

“Behold, as for the (E)proud one,
His soul is not right within him;
But the (F)righteous will live by his [e]faith.
“Furthermore, (G)wine betrays the (H)haughty man,
So that he does not (I)stay at home.
He (J)enlarges his appetite like Sheol,
And he is like death, never satisfied.
He also gathers to himself all nations
And collects to himself all peoples.
