Habakkuk 1:7-9
New Life Version
7 They fill others with fear. They make their own law about what is fair and honored. 8 Their horses are faster than leopards, and show less pity than wolves in the evening. Their horsemen come on running horses from far away. They fly like an eagle coming down to get food. 9 They all come in anger. Their armies move like the desert wind. They gather prisoners like sand.

New International Version
7 They are a feared and dreaded people;(A)
they are a law to themselves
and promote their own honor.
8 Their horses are swifter(B) than leopards,
fiercer than wolves(C) at dusk.
Their cavalry gallops headlong;
their horsemen come from afar.
They fly like an eagle swooping to devour;
9 they all come intent on violence.
Their hordes[a] advance like a desert wind
and gather prisoners(D) like sand.
