Habakkuk 1:11-13
Legacy Standard Bible
11 Then they will sweep through like the (A)wind and pass on.
But they will be held (B)guilty,
They whose (C)power is their god.”
Yahweh Has Placed Them to Judge
12 Are You not from (D)everlasting,
O Yahweh, my God, my Holy One?
We will not die.
You, O Yahweh, have (E)placed them to judge;
And You, O (F)Rock, have established them to reprove.
13 Your eyes are too (G)pure to see evil,
And You cannot look on trouble.
Why do You (H)look
On those who deal (I)treacherously?
Why are You (J)silent when the wicked (K)swallow up
Those more righteous than they?
Habakkuk 1:11-13
New International Version
11 Then they sweep past like the wind(A) and go on—
guilty people, whose own strength is their god.”(B)
Habakkuk’s Second Complaint
12 Lord, are you not from everlasting?(C)
My God, my Holy One,(D) you[a] will never die.(E)
You, Lord, have appointed(F) them to execute judgment;
you, my Rock,(G) have ordained them to punish.
13 Your eyes are too pure(H) to look on evil;
you cannot tolerate wrongdoing.(I)
Why then do you tolerate(J) the treacherous?(K)
Why are you silent while the wicked
swallow up those more righteous than themselves?(L)
