⁹ You uncovered your bow,
    you called for many arrows.^(A)
You split the earth with rivers;

¹² If he does not relent,^(A)
    he^[a] will sharpen his sword;^(B)
    he will bend and string his bow.^(C)
13 He has prepared his deadly weapons;
    he makes ready his flaming arrows.^(D)

⁴¹ He opened the rock,^(A) and water gushed out;
    it flowed like a river in the desert.

¹⁵ He split the rocks^(A) in the wilderness
    and gave them water as abundant as the seas;
¹⁶ he brought streams out of a rocky crag
    and made water flow down like rivers.

⁷² to show mercy to our ancestors^(A)
    and to remember his holy covenant,^(B)
73     the oath he swore to our father Abraham:^(C)
74 to rescue us from the hand of our enemies,
    and to enable us to serve him^(D) without fear^(E)
75     in holiness and righteousness^(F) before him all our days.

⁴ Like an enemy he has strung his bow;^(A)
    his right hand is ready.
Like a foe he has slain
    all who were pleasing to the eye;^(B)
he has poured out his wrath^(C) like fire^(D)
    on the tent^(E) of Daughter Zion.

¹⁰ The Lord will lay bare his holy arm^(A)
    in the sight of all the nations,^(B)
and all the ends of the earth^(C) will see
    the salvation^(D) of our God.
