更美之约的大祭司
8 我们所讲的要点是：我们有这样一位大祭司，祂现在已经坐在天上至高上帝的宝座右边， 2 并在圣所里供职。这圣所就是真正的圣幕，不是人建立的，而是主亲手建立的。 3 所有的大祭司都是为了向上帝献礼物和祭物而设立的，因此我们这位大祭司也必须有所献上。 4 祂如果是在地上，根本不会做祭司，因为地上已经有照律法向上帝献礼物的祭司了。 5 这些祭司的事奉都是仿效和反映天上的事，正如摩西建圣幕的时候，上帝指示他说：

8 Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.
4 For if he were on earth, he should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Who serve unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.
6 But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 In that he saith, A new covenant, he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.

8 Главно у овоме што је речено јесте да имамо таквог првосвештеника који је сео здесна престолу Величанства на небесима, 2 који служи у Светилишту, у правом Шатору који је подигао Господ, а не човек.
3 Сваки првосвештеник се поставља да приноси дарове и жртве. Зато је било неопходно да и овај има нешто да принесе. 4 Да је на земљи, не би био ни свештеник, пошто ту већ има оних који по Закону приносе дарове, 5 оних који служе слици и сенци онога што је на небу. Зато је Мојсије био упозорен када је требало да подигне Шатор: »Пази«, рече, »да све начиниш према узору који ти је показан на гори.«(A) 6 Али, Исус је добио онолико изврснију службу од њихове колико је савез чији је он посредник бољи и заснован на бољим обећањима.
7 Да је први савез био беспрекоран, не би се тражило место за други. 8 Јер, Бог, прекоревајући их, каже:
»Ево, долази време, каже Господ, када ћу склопити нови савез са народом Израела и народом Јуде. 9 Он неће бити као савез који сам склопио с њиховим праоцима када сам их узео за руку да их изведем из Египта. Јер, они нису остали верни моме савезу, па сам се и ја окренуо од њих, говори Господ. 10 А ово је савез који ћу склопити са израелским народом после тог времена, говори Господ: ставићу своје законе у њихове мисли и написати их на њиховом срцу, и бићу њихов Бог, а они ће бити мој народ. 11 И нико више неће морати да учи свога суграђанина ни свога брата говорећи: ‚Упознај Господа‘, пошто ће ме познавати сви од малог до великог међу њима. 12 Јер, опростићу им њихове неправде и више се нећу сећати њихових греха.«(B)
13 Рекавши »нови савез«, онај први је прогласио застарелим. А оно што застарева и овештава, није далеко од нестанка.
