Melchizedek’s Blessing
17 After Abram returned from defeating Chedorlaomer and the kings who were with him, the king of Sodom went out to meet him in the Shaveh Valley (that is, the King’s Valley(A)). 18 Melchizedek, king of Salem,[a](B) brought out bread and wine; he was a priest to God Most High.(C) 19 He blessed him and said:
Abram is blessed by God Most High,
Creator[b] of heaven and earth,

17 After Abram returned from defeating Kedorlaomer(A) and the kings allied with him, the king of Sodom(B) came out to meet him in the Valley of Shaveh (that is, the King’s Valley).(C)
18 Then Melchizedek(D) king of Salem(E) brought out bread(F) and wine.(G) He was priest of God Most High,(H) 19 and he blessed Abram,(I) saying,
