The Flood Subsides
8 But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and all the domestic animals that were with him in the ark. And God made a wind blow over the earth, and the waters subsided; 2 the fountains of the deep and the windows of the heavens were closed, the rain from the heavens was restrained, 3 and the waters gradually receded from the earth. At the end of one hundred fifty days the waters had abated; 4 and in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat. 5 The waters continued to abate until the tenth month; in the tenth month, on the first day of the month, the tops of the mountains appeared.
6 At the end of forty days Noah opened the window of the ark that he had made 7 and sent out the raven; and it went to and fro until the waters were dried up from the earth. 8 Then he sent out the dove from him, to see if the waters had subsided from the face of the ground; 9 but the dove found no place to set its foot, and it returned to him to the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. So he put out his hand and took it and brought it into the ark with him. 10 He waited another seven days, and again he sent out the dove from the ark; 11 and the dove came back to him in the evening, and there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf; so Noah knew that the waters had subsided from the earth. 12 Then he waited another seven days, and sent out the dove; and it did not return to him any more.
13 In the six hundred first year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and saw that the face of the ground was drying. 14 In the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry. 15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Go out of the ark, you and your wife, and your sons and your sons’ wives with you. 17 Bring out with you every living thing that is with you of all flesh—birds and animals and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth—so that they may abound on the earth, and be fruitful and multiply on the earth.” 18 So Noah went out with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives. 19 And every animal, every creeping thing, and every bird, everything that moves on the earth, went out of the ark by families.
God’s Promise to Noah
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord, and took of every clean animal and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 And when the Lord smelled the pleasing odor, the Lord said in his heart, “I will never again curse the ground because of humankind, for the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth; nor will I ever again destroy every living creature as I have done.
22 As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest, cold and heat,
summer and winter, day and night,
shall not cease.”
The Covenant with Noah
9 God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth. 2 The fear and dread of you shall rest on every animal of the earth, and on every bird of the air, on everything that creeps on the ground, and on all the fish of the sea; into your hand they are delivered. 3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and just as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything. 4 Only, you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood. 5 For your own lifeblood I will surely require a reckoning: from every animal I will require it and from human beings, each one for the blood of another, I will require a reckoning for human life.
6 Whoever sheds the blood of a human,
by a human shall that person’s blood be shed;
for in his own image
God made humankind.
7 And you, be fruitful and multiply, abound on the earth and multiply in it.”
8 Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him, 9 “As for me, I am establishing my covenant with you and your descendants after you, 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the domestic animals, and every animal of the earth with you, as many as came out of the ark.[a] 11 I establish my covenant with you, that never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of a flood, and never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.” 12 God said, “This is the sign of the covenant that I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for all future generations: 13 I have set my bow in the clouds, and it shall be a sign of the covenant between me and the earth. 14 When I bring clouds over the earth and the bow is seen in the clouds, 15 I will remember my covenant that is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh. 16 When the bow is in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.” 17 God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”
Noah and His Sons
18 The sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Ham was the father of Canaan. 19 These three were the sons of Noah; and from these the whole earth was peopled.
20 Noah, a man of the soil, was the first to plant a vineyard. 21 He drank some of the wine and became drunk, and he lay uncovered in his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside. 23 Then Shem and Japheth took a garment, laid it on both their shoulders, and walked backward and covered the nakedness of their father; their faces were turned away, and they did not see their father’s nakedness. 24 When Noah awoke from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him, 25 he said,
“Cursed be Canaan;
lowest of slaves shall he be to his brothers.”
26 He also said,
“Blessed by the Lord my God be Shem;
and let Canaan be his slave.
27 May God make space for[b] Japheth,
and let him live in the tents of Shem;
and let Canaan be his slave.”
28 After the flood Noah lived three hundred fifty years. 29 All the days of Noah were nine hundred fifty years; and he died.

Nel decimo mese, il primo giorno del mese, apparvero le vette dei monti.
6 Dopo quaranta giorni Noè aprì la finestra che aveva fatta nell’arca 7 e mandò fuori il corvo, il quale uscì, andando e tornando, finché le acque furono prosciugate sulla terra. 8 Poi mandò fuori la colomba per vedere se le acque fossero diminuite sulla superficie della terra. 9 La colomba non trovò dove posare la pianta del suo piede e tornò a lui nell’arca, perché c’erano le acque sulla superficie di tutta la terra; ed egli stese la mano, la prese e la portò con sé dentro l’arca. 10 Aspettò altri sette giorni, poi mandò di nuovo la colomba fuori dell’arca. 11 E la colomba tornò da lui verso sera; ed ecco, aveva nel becco una foglia fresca d’ulivo. Così Noè capì che le acque erano diminuite sopra la terra. 12 Aspettò altri sette giorni, poi mandò fuori la colomba; ma essa non tornò più da lui.
13 L’anno seicentouno della vita di Noè, il primo mese, il primo giorno del mese, le acque erano asciugate sulla terra e Noè scoperchiò l’arca, guardò, ed ecco che la superficie del suolo era asciutta. 14 Il secondo mese, il ventisettesimo giorno del mese, la terra era asciutta.
15 (B)Dio parlò allora a Noè dicendo: 16 «Esci dall’arca tu, tua moglie, i tuoi figli e le mogli dei tuoi figli con te. 17 Tutti gli animali che sono con te, di ogni specie[b], volatili, bestiame e tutti i rettili che strisciano sulla terra, falli uscire con te, perché possano disseminarsi sulla terra, siano fecondi e si moltiplichino su di essa». 18 Noè uscì con i suoi figli, con sua moglie e con le mogli dei suoi figli. 19 Tutti gli animali, tutti i rettili, tutti gli uccelli, tutto quello che si muove sulla terra, secondo le loro famiglie, uscirono dall’arca.
20 Noè costruì un altare al Signore; prese animali puri di ogni specie e uccelli puri di ogni specie e offrì olocausti sull’altare. 21 Il Signore sentì un odore soave; e il Signore disse in cuor suo: «Io non maledirò più la terra a motivo dell’uomo, poiché il cuore dell’uomo concepisce disegni malvagi fin dall’adolescenza; non colpirò più ogni essere vivente come ho fatto. 22 Finché la terra durerà, semina e raccolta, freddo e caldo, estate e inverno, giorno e notte non cesseranno mai».
Noè e i suoi figli
9 (C)Dio benedisse Noè e i suoi figli, e disse loro: «Crescete, moltiplicatevi e riempite la terra. 2 Avranno timore e spavento di voi tutti gli animali della terra e tutti gli uccelli del cielo. Essi sono dati in vostro potere con tutto ciò che striscia sulla terra e con tutti i pesci del mare. 3 Tutto ciò che si muove e ha vita vi servirà di cibo; io vi do tutto questo, come l’erba verde; 4 ma non mangerete carne con la sua vita[c], cioè con il suo sangue. 5 Certo, io chiederò conto del vostro sangue, del sangue delle vostre vite; ne chiederò conto a ogni animale; chiederò conto della vita dell’uomo alla mano dell’uomo, alla mano di ogni suo fratello. 6 Il sangue di chiunque spargerà il sangue dell’uomo sarà sparso dall’uomo, perché Dio ha fatto l’uomo a sua immagine. 7 Voi dunque crescete e moltiplicatevi; spandetevi sulla terra e moltiplicatevi in essa».
8 (D)Poi Dio parlò a Noè e ai suoi figli con lui dicendo: 9 «Quanto a me, ecco, stabilisco il mio patto con voi, con i vostri discendenti dopo di voi 10 e con ogni essere vivente[d] che è con voi: uccelli, bestiame e tutti gli animali della terra con voi; da tutti quelli che sono usciti dall’arca a tutti gli animali della terra. 11 Io stabilisco il mio patto con voi; nessun essere vivente[e] sarà più sterminato dalle acque del diluvio e non ci sarà più diluvio per distruggere la terra». 12 Dio disse: «Ecco il segno del patto che io faccio tra me e voi e ogni essere vivente[f] che è con voi, per tutte le generazioni future. 13 Io pongo il mio arco nella nuvola e servirà di segno del patto fra me e la terra. 14 Avverrà che quando avrò raccolto delle nuvole al di sopra della terra, l’arco apparirà nelle nuvole; 15 io mi ricorderò del mio patto fra me e voi e ogni essere vivente[g] di ogni specie[h], e le acque non diventeranno più un diluvio per distruggere ogni essere vivente[i]. 16 L’arco dunque sarà nelle nuvole e io lo guarderò per ricordarmi del patto perpetuo fra Dio e ogni essere vivente[j], di qualunque specie[k] che è sulla terra». 17 Dio disse a Noè: «Questo è il segno del patto che io ho stabilito fra me e ogni essere vivente[l] che è sulla terra».
18 (E)I figli di Noè che uscirono dall’arca erano Sem, Cam e Iafet; e Cam è il padre di Canaan. 19 Questi sono i tre figli di Noè; da loro fu popolata tutta la terra.
20 Noè, che era agricoltore, cominciò a piantare la vigna 21 e bevve del vino; s’inebriò e si denudò in mezzo alla sua tenda. 22 Cam, padre di Canaan, vide la nudità di suo padre e andò a dirlo, fuori, ai suoi fratelli. 23 Ma Sem e Iafet presero il suo mantello, se lo misero insieme sulle spalle e, camminando all’indietro, coprirono la nudità del loro padre. Siccome avevano il viso rivolto dalla parte opposta, non videro la nudità del loro padre. 24 Quando Noè si svegliò dalla sua ebbrezza, seppe quello che gli aveva fatto il figlio minore e disse: 25 «Maledetto Canaan! Sia servo dei servi dei suoi fratelli!» 26 Disse ancora: «Benedetto sia il Signore, Dio di Sem; e sia Canaan suo servo! 27 Dio estenda Iafet! e abiti nelle tende di Sem e sia Canaan suo servo!»
28 Noè visse, dopo il diluvio, trecentocinquant’anni. 29 L’intera vita di Noè fu di novecentocinquant’anni; poi morì.

Das Versiegen der Wasserfluten
8 Da gedachte Gott an Noah und an alle Tiere und an alles Vieh, das bei ihm in der Arche war; und Gott ließ einen Wind über die Erde wehen, sodass die Wasser fielen.
2 Und die Quellen der Tiefe wurden verschlossen samt den Fenstern des Himmels, und dem Regen vom Himmel wurde Einhalt geboten.
3 Und die Wasser über der Erde nahmen mehr und mehr ab, sodass sie sich vermindert hatten nach 150 Tagen.
4 Und die Arche ließ sich auf dem Gebirge Ararat nieder am siebzehnten Tag des siebten Monats.
5 Und die Wasser nahmen immer weiter ab bis zum zehnten Monat; am ersten Tag des zehnten Monats konnte man die Spitzen der Berge sehen.
6 Und es geschah nach Verlauf von 40 Tagen, dass Noah das Fenster an der Arche öffnete, das er gemacht hatte.
7 Und er sandte den Raben aus; der flog hin und her, bis das Wasser auf der Erde vertrocknet war.
8 Danach sandte er die Taube aus, um zu sehen, ob die Wasser sich verlaufen hätten auf der Fläche des Erdbodens.
9 Aber die Taube fand keinen Ort, wo ihr Fuß ruhen konnte. Da kehrte sie zu ihm in die Arche zurück; denn es war noch Wasser auf der ganzen Erdoberfläche. Da streckte er seine Hand aus und ergriff sie und nahm sie wieder zu sich in die Arche.
10 Und er wartete noch weitere sieben Tage; dann sandte er die Taube wieder von der Arche aus.
11 Und die Taube kam zur Abendzeit wieder zu ihm, und siehe, sie hatte ein frisches Ölbaumblatt in ihrem Schnabel! Da erkannte Noah, dass das Wasser sich verlaufen hatte auf der Erde.
12 Und nachdem er noch weitere sieben Tage gewartet hatte, sandte er die Taube wieder aus; da kam sie nicht mehr zu ihm zurück.
13 Und es geschah im sechshundertersten Jahr, am ersten Tag des ersten Monats, da waren die Wasser von der Erde weggetrocknet. Und Noah entfernte das Dach von der Arche und schaute, und siehe, die Fläche des Erdbodens war trocken!
14 Und im zweiten Monat, am siebenundzwanzigsten Tag des Monats, war die Erde [ganz] trocken geworden.
Noah verlässt die Arche. Noahs Opfer und Gottes Verheißung
15 Da redete Gott zu Noah und sprach:
16 Geh aus der Arche, du und deine Frau und deine Söhne und die Frauen deiner Söhne mit dir!
17 Alle Tiere, die bei dir sind, von allem Fleisch: Vögel, Vieh und alles Gewürm, das auf der Erde kriecht, sollen mit dir hinausgehen und sich regen auf der Erde und sollen fruchtbar sein und sich mehren auf der Erde!
18 So ging Noah hinaus samt seinen Söhnen und seiner Frau und den Frauen seiner Söhne.
19 Alle Tiere, alles Gewürm und alle Vögel, alles, was sich regt auf der Erde nach seinen Gattungen, das verließ die Arche.
20 Noah aber baute dem Herrn einen Altar und nahm von allem reinen Vieh und von allen reinen Vögeln und opferte Brandopfer auf dem Altar.
21 Und der Herr roch den lieblichen Geruch[a], und der Herr sprach in seinem Herzen: Ich will künftig den Erdboden nicht mehr verfluchen um des Menschen willen, obwohl das Trachten[b] des menschlichen Herzens böse ist von seiner Jugend an; auch will ich künftig nicht mehr alles Lebendige schlagen, wie ich es getan habe.
22 Von nun an soll nicht aufhören Saat und Ernte, Frost und Hitze, Sommer und Winter, Tag und Nacht, solange die Erde besteht!
Gottes Bund mit Noah
9 Und Gott segnete Noah und seine Söhne und sprach zu ihnen: Seid fruchtbar und mehrt euch und erfüllt die Erde!
2 Furcht und Schrecken vor euch soll über alle Tiere der Erde kommen und über alle Vögel des Himmels, über alles, was sich regt auf dem Erdboden, und über alle Fische im Meer; in eure Hand sind sie gegeben!
3 Alles, was sich regt und lebt, soll euch zur Nahrung dienen; wie das grüne Kraut habe ich es euch alles gegeben.
4 Nur dürft ihr das Fleisch nicht essen, während sein Leben[c], sein Blut, noch in ihm ist!
5 Jedoch euer eigenes Blut will ich fordern, von der Hand aller Tiere will ich es fordern und von der Hand des Menschen, von der Hand seines Bruders will ich das Leben des Menschen fordern.
6 Wer Menschenblut vergießt, dessen Blut soll auch durch Menschen vergossen werden; denn im Bild Gottes hat Er den Menschen gemacht.
7 Ihr aber, seid fruchtbar und mehrt euch und breitet euch aus auf der Erde, dass ihr zahlreich werdet darauf!
8 Und Gott redete zu Noah und zu seinen Söhnen mit ihm und sprach:
9 Siehe, ich richte meinen Bund auf mit euch und mit eurem Samen[d], der nach euch kommt,
10 auch mit allen lebendigen Wesen bei euch, mit Vögeln, Vieh und allen Tieren der Erde bei euch, mit allen, die aus der Arche gegangen sind, was für Tiere es seien auf der Erde.
11 Und ich will meinen Bund mit euch aufrichten, dass künftig nie mehr alles Fleisch von dem Wasser der Sintflut ausgerottet wird, und dass auch keine Sintflut mehr kommen soll, um die Erde zu verderben.
12 Und Gott sprach: Dies ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich festsetze auf ewige Geschlechter hin zwischen mir und euch und allen lebendigen Wesen, die bei euch sind:
13 Meinen Bogen setze ich in die Wolken, der soll ein Zeichen des Bundes sein zwischen mir und der Erde.
14 Wenn es nun geschieht, dass ich Wolken über der Erde sammle, und der Bogen in den Wolken erscheint,
15 dann will ich an meinen Bund gedenken, der zwischen mir und euch und allen lebendigen Wesen von allem Fleisch besteht, dass künftig die Wasser nicht mehr zur Sintflut werden sollen, die alles Fleisch verdirbt.
16 Darum soll der Bogen in den Wolken sein, dass ich ihn ansehe und an den ewigen Bund gedenke zwischen Gott und allen lebendigen Wesen von allem Fleisch, das auf der Erde ist!
17 Und Gott sprach zu Noah: Das ist das Zeichen des Bundes, den ich aufgerichtet habe zwischen mir und allem Fleisch, das auf der Erde ist.
Noahs Fluch und Segen über seine Söhne
18 Die Söhne Noahs aber, welche die Arche verließen, waren Sem[e], Ham[f] und Japhet[g]; und Ham ist der Vater Kanaans[h].
19 Von diesen drei Söhnen Noahs wurde die ganze Erde bevölkert.
20 Noah aber wurde nun ein Landmann und legte einen Weinberg an.
21 Als er aber von dem Wein trank, wurde er betrunken und entblößte sich in seinem Zelt.
22 Und Ham, der Vater Kanaans, sah die Blöße seines Vaters und erzählte es seinen beiden Brüdern draußen.
23 Da nahmen Sem und Japhet das Gewand und legten es auf ihre Schultern und gingen rücklings und deckten die Blöße ihres Vaters zu und wandten ihre Angesichter ab, damit sie die Blöße ihres Vaters nicht sahen.
24 Als nun Noah von dem Wein erwachte und erfuhr, was ihm sein jüngster Sohn getan hatte,
25 da sprach er: »Verflucht sei Kanaan! Ein Knecht der Knechte sei er seinen Brüdern!«
26 Und weiter sprach er: »Gepriesen sei der Herr, der Gott Sems, und Kanaan sei sein Knecht!
27 Gott breite Japhet aus und lasse ihn wohnen in den Zelten Sems, und Kanaan sei sein Knecht!«
28 Noah aber lebte nach der Sintflut noch 350 Jahre lang;
29 und die ganze Lebenszeit Noahs betrug 950 Jahre, und er starb.

Az özönvíz vége
8 Isten azonban nem feledkezett meg Nóéról, és az állatokról, amelyek a bárkában voltak, hanem gondja volt rájuk: erős szelet küldött a vízzel borított földre, és az özönvíz apadni kezdett. 2 Bezárta a mélység forrásait, az égboltozat ablakait, és az eső elállt. 3 A víz ettől fogva folyamatosan apadt, és 150 nap múlva visszahúzódott a szárazföldről. 4 A hetedik hónap 17. napján a bárka megfeneklett az Ararát-hegységben. 5 Azután az ár tovább apadt, és a tizedik hónap első napján Nóé meglátta a hegyek csúcsait.
6 Ezután negyven nappal Nóé kinyitotta a bárka egyik ablakát, amelyet ő készített, 7 és kiengedett egy hollót. Az ide-oda szállt, amíg a víz teljesen föl nem száradt a földről.
8 Később kiengedett egy galambot is, hogy lássa, vajon egészen leapadt-e a víz. 9 De egy idő múlva a galamb visszatért, mert sehol sem tudott leszállni. Nóé kinyújtotta érte a kezét, és visszavette a bárkába. 10 Azután hét napot várt, majd ismét kiengedte a galambot. 11 Aznap este a galamb megint visszatért, de ezúttal már egy friss olajfalevelet hozott a csőrében! Ebből tudta meg Nóé, hogy a víz leapadt a földről. 12 Újabb hét nap várakozás után ismét elengedte a galambot, amely nem tért vissza többé.
13 Nóé életének 601. évében, az első hónap első napján az árvíz visszahúzódott a szárazföldről. Nóé ekkor eltávolította a bárka tetejét, körülnézett, és látta, hogy már szárad a föld. 14 A második hónap 27. napjára azután teljesen fölszáradt a talaj.
15 Akkor Isten szólt Nóénak: 16 „Menj ki a bárkából feleségeddel, fiaiddal, és azok feleségeivel együtt! 17 Engedd ki a veled lévő állatokat is: a madarakat, a háziállatokat és a vadállatokat — hadd szaporodjanak, sokasodjanak és terjedjenek el ismét a földön!” 18 Így hát Nóé egész családjával együtt elhagyta a bárkát. 19 Az állatok is kimentek a szabadba: minden kisebb és nagyobb szárazföldi állat és madár kiment a bárkából, mindegyik a saját fajtájával együtt.
Nóé hálaáldozata
20 Ezután Nóé oltárt épített az Örökkévalónak. Mindenféle tiszta állat és madár közül vett néhányat, és az oltáron feláldozta azokat égőáldozatként. 21 Az Örökkévaló megérezte az áldozat jó illatát, és kedvét lelte benne. Akkor magában ezt mondta: „Többé nem átkozom meg a földet az ember miatt! Hiszen az ember szívének szándékai és kívánságai gonoszak fiatalsága óta. Nem irtom ki többé a földről az élőlényeket úgy, ahogy most tettem.
22 Amíg csak a föld megmarad,
vetés és aratás,
hideg és meleg,
tél és nyár,
nappal és éjszaka
meg nem szűnik.”
Isten szövetséget köt Nóéval
9 Isten a következő szavakkal áldotta meg Nóét és fiait:
„Legyetek termékenyek,
szaporodjatok, sokasodjatok,
népesítsétek be a földet!
2 Féljen és rettegjen tőletek
minden földi állat, égi madár,
és a tenger halai!
Nektek adom őket.
3 Ahogy a zöld növényeket,
úgy most az összes élő állatot is
nektek adom táplálékul.
4 Csak a vért,
amely a testet élteti,
azt ne egyétek a hússal együtt!
5 Az embert éltető vért számon kérem
attól, aki ember-vért ont[a].
Számon kérem a vadállattól,
és az embertől is,
ha ember életét oltja ki.
6 Aki embervért ont,
annak vérét ember ontsa ki,
mert őt Isten a maga hasonlóságára teremtette!
7 Ti pedig legyetek termékenyek,
szaporodjatok,
népesítsétek be a földet
és sokasodjatok rajta!”
8 Majd ezt mondta Isten Nóénak és a vele lévő fiainak:
9 „Nézzétek! Én magam kötök most szövetséget veletek, és összes utódaitokkal, 10 meg az összes állattal, amely veletek van — madarakkal, háziállatokkal, vadállatokkal, mindazokkal, amelyek a bárkából kijöttek, és amelyek majd ezután fognak élni a földön. 11 Megígérem nektek: többé nem irtom ki az összes földi élőlényt vízáradattal, többé nem pusztítom el a földet özönvíz által.
12 Ez a jele a szövetségnek, amelyet kötöttem veletek, és az összes jövendő nemzedékkel, meg a veletek lévő állatokkal, és azok jövendő nemzedékeivel: 13 a szivárvány ívét helyezem a felhőkre. Ez lesz a jele a szövetségnek, amelyet veletek és az egész földdel kötöttem. 14 Ezentúl, amikor felhővel borítom be az eget, és feltűnik rajta a szivárvány, 15 emlékezni fogok szövetségemre, amelyet veletek és az összes földi élőlénnyel kötöttem: hogy a vízáradat soha többé nem növekszik minden élőlényt elpusztító özönvízzé. 16 Mikor feltűnik az égen a szivárvány, látni fogom, és emlékezem az örök szövetségre, amelyet Isten kötött a földön élő emberekkel és állatokkal. 17 Nézzétek! Ez a szivárvány! Ez a jele a szövetségnek, amelyet veletek és az állatokkal kötöttem!”
Nóé átka és áldása
18-19 Ezek voltak Nóé fiai, akik vele együtt jöttek ki a bárkából: Sém, Hám és Jáfet. Az ő leszármazottjaik terjedtek szét, és népesítették be újra a földet.
Hámnak később fia született, akit Kánaánnak[b] neveztek.
20 Nóé hozzákezdett, hogy megművelje a földet, és szőlőskertet is telepített. 21 Egyszer bort készített a szőlő terméséből, ivott belőle, és megrészegedett. Éppen a sátrában feküdt öntudatlanul és meztelenül, 22 amikor Hám — aki Kánaán apja volt — bement Nóé sátrába, és ott látta apját, aki ruhátlanul feküdt a földön. Majd kiment, és elújságolta két testvérének, hogy látta, amint apjuk meztelenül és részegen fekszik sátrában. 23 Akkor Sém és Jáfet fogott egy nagyobb ruhadarabot, egymás mellé állva a vállukra terítették, majd hátrálva bementek apjuk sátrába, és betakarták Nóét. Közben egy pillanatra sem fordultak hátra, és nem látták apjukat meztelenül.
24 Később Nóé felébredt és kijózanodott a részegségből. Amikor megtudta, hogyan bánt vele Hám, a kisebbik fia, 25 felkiáltott:
„Átkozott legyen Kánaán!
Alávaló rabszolga legyen
testvérei között!”
26 Azután ezt mondta:
„Áldott legyen az Örökkévaló,
Sém Istene!
Kánaán pedig legyen
Sém rabszolgája!
27 Isten terjessze ki Jáfet határait,
és lakjon Jáfet Sém sátraiban!
Kánaán pedig legyen
Jáfet rabszolgája!”
28 Nóé még 350 évig élt az özönvíz után, 29 így a teljes életideje 950 évre terjedt, amikor meghalt.

Il fit souffler un vent sur la terre ; alors les eaux se mirent à baisser. 2 Les sources des eaux souterraines et les écluses du ciel se refermèrent. La pluie cessa de tomber. 3 Peu à peu, les eaux se retirèrent de dessus la terre. Au bout des cent cinquante jours, elles commencèrent à baisser.
4 Le dix-septième jour du septième mois, le bateau s’échoua dans le massif montagneux d’Ararat. 5 Les eaux continuèrent à baisser jusqu’au dixième mois ; le premier jour de ce mois, les sommets des montagnes apparurent. 6 Quarante jours après, Noé ouvrit la fenêtre qu’il avait ménagée dans le bateau 7 et lâcha un corbeau ; celui-ci s’envola, il revint et repartit à plusieurs reprises jusqu’à ce que les eaux se soient résorbées sur la terre. 8 Puis Noé lâcha une colombe pour voir si les eaux avaient baissé sur la terre ; 9 mais n’ayant pas trouvé où se poser, celle-ci revint vers lui dans le bateau, car toute la terre était encore inondée. Noé tendit la main, prit la colombe et la ramena auprès de lui dans le bateau. 10 Il attendit encore sept autres jours et lâcha de nouveau la colombe hors du bateau ; 11 elle revint vers lui sur le soir, tenant dans son bec une feuille d’olivier toute fraîche ; Noé sut ainsi que les eaux s’étaient résorbées sur la terre. 12 Il attendit encore sept autres jours et relâcha la colombe ; cette fois, elle ne revint plus vers lui.
13 L’an 601 de la vie de Noé, le premier jour du premier mois, les eaux s’étaient retirées sur la terre, Noé enleva la couverture du bateau ; il regarda dehors et constata que la surface du sol avait séché. 14 Le vingt-septième jour du deuxième mois, la terre était sèche. 15 Alors Dieu dit à Noé : 16 Sors du bateau avec ta femme, tes fils et tes belles-filles. 17 Fais sortir aussi tous les animaux de toutes sortes qui sont avec toi : les oiseaux, les bestiaux et toutes les bêtes qui se meuvent à ras de terre : qu’ils prolifèrent sur la terre, et qu’ils s’y reproduisent et s’y multiplient.
18 Noé sortit avec ses fils, sa femme et ses belles-filles. 19 Tous les animaux, les bêtes qui se meuvent à ras de terre et les oiseaux, tous les êtres qui remuent sur la terre sortirent du bateau par familles.
20 Noé érigea un autel pour l’Eternel, il prit de tous les animaux purs et de tous les oiseaux purs, et les offrit en holocauste[a] sur l’autel. 21 L’Eternel sentit le parfum apaisant du sacrifice[b] et se dit en lui-même : Jamais plus je ne maudirai la terre à cause de l’homme, puisque le cœur de l’homme est porté au mal dès son enfance, et je ne détruirai plus tous les êtres vivants comme je viens de le faire.
22 Aussi longtemps |que durera la terre,
semailles et moissons,
froid et chaleur,
été, hiver,
et jour et nuit
jamais ne cesseront.
L’alliance avec Noé
9 Dieu bénit Noé et ses fils et leur dit : Soyez féconds, multipliez-vous et remplissez la terre. 2 Vous inspirerez désormais la crainte et la terreur à toutes les bêtes de la terre et à tous les oiseaux du ciel ; tous les animaux qui se meuvent sur la terre et tous les poissons de la mer sont livrés en votre pouvoir. 3 Tout ce qui remue et qui vit vous servira de nourriture comme les légumes et les plantes : je vous donne tout cela. 4 Toutefois, vous ne mangerez pas de viande contenant encore sa vie, c’est-à-dire son sang[c]. 5 Quant à votre sang à vous j’en demanderai compte pour votre vie. Quiconque le répandra, que ce soit un animal ou un être humain, je lui en demanderai compte. Je demanderai compte à chaque homme de la vie de son semblable.
6 Qui verse le sang d’un humain,
par un humain, aura son sang versé.
Car l’être humain a été fait
en sorte d’être l’image de Dieu.
7 Vous donc, soyez féconds, multipliez-vous et proliférez sur la terre, multipliez-vous.
8 Dieu dit encore à Noé et à ses fils : 9 Pour ma part, je vais établir mon alliance avec vous et avec vos descendants après vous, 10 ainsi qu’avec tous les êtres vivants qui sont avec vous : oiseaux, bétail et bêtes sauvages, tous ceux qui sont sortis du bateau avec vous, tous les animaux de la terre. 11 Je m’engage envers vous par alliance à ce que toutes les créatures ne soient plus jamais détruites par les eaux d’un déluge et qu’il n’y ait plus de déluge pour ravager la terre.
12 Et Dieu ajouta : Voici le signe de l’alliance que je conclus pour tous les âges à venir entre moi et vous et tout être vivant qui est avec vous : 13 je place mon arc dans les nuées ; il servira de signe d’alliance entre moi et la terre. 14 Quand j’amoncellerai des nuages au-dessus de la terre, l’arc apparaîtra dans la nuée ; 15 alors je me souviendrai de mon alliance avec vous et avec tout être vivant, quel qu’il soit, et les eaux ne formeront plus de déluge pour détruire toutes les créatures. 16 L’arc sera dans la nuée, et je le regarderai pour me rappeler l’alliance éternelle conclue entre moi et tous les êtres vivants qui sont sur la terre.
17 Dieu répéta à Noé : Tel est le signe de l’alliance que j’ai établie entre moi et toute créature qui vit sur la terre.
Nouveau départ, nouveau péché
18 Les fils de Noé qui sortirent du bateau étaient Sem, Cham et Japhet ; Cham était le père de Canaan. 19 C’est à partir de ces trois fils de Noé que toute la terre fut repeuplée.
20 Noé se mit à cultiver la terre et il planta une vigne. 21 Il en but le vin et s’enivra, de sorte qu’il se mit tout nu au milieu de sa tente. 22 Cham, le père de Canaan, vit son père nu et sortit le raconter à ses deux frères. 23 Alors Sem et Japhet prirent la tunique de Noé et la placèrent sur leurs épaules. Puis ils marchèrent à reculons vers leur père et le couvrirent. Comme leur visage était tourné de l’autre côté, ils ne virent pas leur père tout nu. 24 Quand Noé se réveilla de son ivresse, il apprit ce que son plus jeune fils avait fait. 25 Alors il s’écria :
Maudit soit Canaan !
Qu’il soit le dernier des esclaves de ses frères !
26 Puis il ajouta :
Béni soit l’Eternel, le Dieu de Sem,
et que Canaan, de Sem soit l’esclave !
27 Que Dieu étende |le territoire de Japhet,
qu’il habite dans les tentes de Sem,
que Canaan soit leur esclave !
28 Après le déluge Noé vécut encore 350 ans. 29 La durée totale de sa vie fut de 950 ans, puis il mourut.
