De aarde wordt weer droog
8 Maar God was Noach en alle dieren bij hem in de boot niet vergeten. Hij zorgde ervoor dat de wind het water wegblies, zodat het water zakte. 2 Hij sloot de bronnen in de aarde waaruit het water naar boven kolkte. Ook liet Hij het ophouden met regenen. 3 Langzaam maar zeker stroomde het water van de aarde weg. Zo begon na 150 dagen (5 maanden) het water te zakken. 4 Op de 17e dag van de zevende maand bleef de boot vastzitten op één van de bergtoppen van de Ararat. 5 Het water bleef langzaam zakken. Op de eerste dag van de tiende maand waren de toppen van de bergen weer te zien.
6 Toen er 40 dagen voorbij waren, deed Noach het raam van de boot open. 7 Hij liet een raaf wegvliegen. De raaf bleef heen en weer vliegen totdat de aarde weer droog was. 8 Daarna liet hij een duif wegvliegen, om te zien of het water al helemaal was verdwenen. 9 Maar de duif vond nog nergens een plekje om te gaan zitten en vloog naar Noach terug. Want de hele aarde stond nog onder water. Noach stak zijn hand uit en nam de duif weer terug in de boot. 10 Hij wachtte nog zeven dagen en liet de duif toen weer wegvliegen. 11 's Avonds kwam de duif terug met een vers olijfblad in de snavel. Daardoor wist Noach dat het water op aarde was gezakt. 12 Hij wachtte nóg zeven dagen en liet toen de duif weer los. De duif kwam niet meer bij hem terug. 13 In het jaar dat Noach 601 jaar werd, op de eerste dag van de eerste maand, was de aarde opgedroogd. Noach schoof het luik in het dak van de boot open, keek naar buiten en zag dat de aarde bijna was opgedroogd. 14 Op de 27e dag van de tweede maand was de aarde droog.
15 Toen zei God tegen Noach: 16 "Ga met je vrouw, je zonen en de vrouwen van je zonen van boord. 17 Neem alle vogels en dieren mee naar buiten. Dan kunnen ze weer op de aarde leven en jongen krijgen. Dan komen er weer veel dieren op de aarde." 18 Toen ging Noach naar buiten met zijn zonen, zijn vrouw en de vrouwen van zijn zonen. 19 Ook alle dieren en vogels kwamen naar buiten, alle soorten die op aarde leven.
Gods belofte
20 En Noach bouwde een altaar voor de Heer. Hij koos van alle reine dieren en van alle reine vogels een aantal uit en offerde die als brand-offer op het altaar. 21 De Heer was blij met het offer en zei bij Zichzelf: "De mensen zijn slecht en bedenken van jongs af alleen maar slechte dingen. Toch zal Ik nooit meer op zo'n manier de aarde straffen. Ik zal nooit meer alles wat leeft doden. 22 Zolang de aarde bestaat, zullen voortaan zaaitijd en oogsttijd, kou en hitte, zomer en winter, en dag en nacht blijven bestaan."

8 Y ACORDOSE Dios de Noé, y de todos los animales, y de todas las bestias que estaban con él en el arca; é hizo pasar Dios un viento sobre la tierra, y disminuyeron las aguas.
2 Y se cerraron las fuentes del abismo, y las cataratas de los cielos; y la lluvia de los cielos fué detenida.
3 Y tornáronse las aguas de sobre la tierra, yendo y volviendo: y decrecieron las aguas al cabo de ciento y cincuenta días.
4 Y reposó el arca en el mes séptimo, á dicisiete días del mes, sobre los montes de Armenia.
5 Y las aguas fueron decreciendo hasta el mes décimo: en el décimo, al primero del mes, se descubrieron las cimas de los montes.
6 Y sucedió que, al cabo de cuarenta días, abrió Noé la ventana del arca que había hecho,
7 Y envió al cuervo, el cual salió, y estuvo yendo y tornando hasta que las aguas se secaron de sobre la tierra.
8 Envió también de sí á la paloma, para ver si las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la faz de la tierra;
9 Y no halló la paloma donde sentar la planta de su pie, y volvióse á él al arca, porque las aguas estaban aún sobre la faz de toda la tierra: entonces él extendió su mano y cogiéndola, hízola entrar consigo en el arca.
10 Y esperó aún otros siete días, y volvió á enviar la paloma fuera del arca.
11 Y la paloma volvió á él á la hora de la tarde: y he aquí que traía una hoja de oliva tomada en su pico: y entendió Noé que las aguas se habían retirado de sobre la tierra.
12 Y esperó aún otros siete días, y envió la paloma, la cual no volvió ya más á él.
13 Y sucedió que en el año seiscientos y uno de Noé, en el mes primero, al primero del mes, las aguas se enjugaron de sobre la tierra y quitó Noé la cubierta del arca, y miró, y he aquí que la faz de la tierra estaba enjuta.
14 Y en el mes segundo, á los veintisiete días del mes, se secó la tierra.
15 Y habló Dios á Noé diciendo:
16 Sal del arca tú, y tu mujer, y tus hijos, y las mujeres de tus hijos contigo.
17 Todos los animales que están contigo de toda carne, de aves y de bestias y de todo reptil que anda arrastrando sobre la tierra, sacarás contigo; y vayan por la tierra, y fructifiquen, y multiplíquense sobre la tierra.
18 Entonces salió Noé, y sus hijos, y su mujer, y las mujeres de sus hijos con él.
19 Todos los animales, y todo reptil y toda ave, todo lo que se mueve sobre la tierra según sus especies, salieron del arca.
20 Y edificó Noé un altar á Jehová y tomó de todo animal limpio y de toda ave limpia, y ofreció holocausto en el altar.
21 Y percibió Jehová olor de suavidad; y dijo Jehová en su corazón: No tornaré más á maldecir la tierra por causa del hombre; porque el intento del corazón del hombre es malo desde su juventud: ni volveré más á destruir todo viviente, como he hecho.
22 Todavía serán todos los tiempos de la tierra; la sementera y la siega, y el frío y calor, verano é invierno, y día y noche, no cesarán.

8 But God remembered(A) Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth,(B) and the waters receded. 2 Now the springs of the deep and the floodgates of the heavens(C) had been closed, and the rain(D) had stopped falling from the sky. 3 The water receded steadily from the earth. At the end of the hundred and fifty days(E) the water had gone down, 4 and on the seventeenth day of the seventh month(F) the ark came to rest on the mountains(G) of Ararat.(H) 5 The waters continued to recede until the tenth month, and on the first day of the tenth month the tops of the mountains became visible.
6 After forty days(I) Noah opened a window he had made in the ark 7 and sent out a raven,(J) and it kept flying back and forth until the water had dried up from the earth.(K) 8 Then he sent out a dove(L) to see if the water had receded from the surface of the ground. 9 But the dove could find nowhere to perch because there was water over all the surface of the earth; so it returned to Noah in the ark. He reached out his hand and took the dove and brought it back to himself in the ark. 10 He waited seven more days and again sent out the dove from the ark. 11 When the dove returned to him in the evening, there in its beak was a freshly plucked olive leaf! Then Noah knew that the water had receded from the earth.(M) 12 He waited seven more days and sent the dove out again, but this time it did not return to him.
13 By the first day of the first month of Noah’s six hundred and first year,(N) the water had dried up from the earth. Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. 14 By the twenty-seventh day of the second month(O) the earth was completely dry.
15 Then God said to Noah, 16 “Come out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and their wives.(P) 17 Bring out every kind of living creature that is with you—the birds, the animals, and all the creatures that move along the ground—so they can multiply on the earth and be fruitful and increase in number on it.”(Q)
18 So Noah came out, together with his sons and his wife and his sons’ wives.(R) 19 All the animals and all the creatures that move along the ground and all the birds—everything that moves on land—came out of the ark, one kind after another.
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord(S) and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean(T) birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings(U) on it. 21 The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma(V) and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground(W) because of humans, even though[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood.(X) And never again will I destroy(Y) all living creatures,(Z) as I have done.

8 Dieu se souvint de Noé, de tous les animaux et de tout le bétail qui étaient avec lui dans l'arche; et Dieu fit passer un vent sur la terre, et les eaux s'apaisèrent.
2 Les sources de l'abîme et les écluses des cieux furent fermées, et la pluie ne tomba plus du ciel.
3 Les eaux se retirèrent de dessus la terre, s'en allant et s'éloignant, et les eaux diminuèrent au bout de cent cinquante jours.
4 Le septième mois, le dix-septième jour du mois, l'arche s'arrêta sur les montagnes d'Ararat.
5 Les eaux allèrent en diminuant jusqu'au dixième mois. Le dixième mois, le premier jour du mois, apparurent les sommets des montagnes.
6 Au bout de quarante jours, Noé ouvrit la fenêtre qu'il avait faite à l'arche.
7 Il lâcha le corbeau, qui sortit, partant et revenant, jusqu'à ce que les eaux eussent séché sur la terre.
8 Il lâcha aussi la colombe, pour voir si les eaux avaient diminué à la surface de la terre.
9 Mais la colombe ne trouva aucun lieu pour poser la plante de son pied, et elle revint à lui dans l'arche, car il y avait des eaux à la surface de toute la terre. Il avança la main, la prit, et la fit rentrer auprès de lui dans l'arche.
10 Il attendit encore sept autres jours, et il lâcha de nouveau la colombe hors de l'arche.
11 La colombe revint à lui sur le soir; et voici, une feuille d'olivier arrachée était dans son bec. Noé connut ainsi que les eaux avaient diminué sur la terre.
12 Il attendit encore sept autres jours; et il lâcha la colombe. Mais elle ne revint plus à lui.
13 L'an six cent un, le premier mois, le premier jour du mois, les eaux avaient séché sur la terre. Noé ôta la couverture de l'arche: il regarda, et voici, la surface de la terre avait séché.
14 Le second mois, le vingt-septième jour du mois, la terre fut sèche.
15 Alors Dieu parla à Noé, en disant:
16 Sors de l'arche, toi et ta femme, tes fils et les femmes de tes fils avec toi.
17 Fais sortir avec toi tous les animaux de toute chair qui sont avec toi, tant les oiseaux que le bétail et tous les reptiles qui rampent sur la terre: qu'ils se répandent sur la terre, qu'ils soient féconds et multiplient sur la terre.
18 Et Noé sortit, avec ses fils, sa femme, et les femmes de ses fils.
19 Tous les animaux, tous les reptiles, tous les oiseaux, tout ce qui se meut sur la terre, selon leurs espèces, sortirent de l'arche.
20 Noé bâtit un autel à l'Éternel; il prit de toutes les bêtes pures et de tous les oiseaux purs, et il offrit des holocaustes sur l'autel.
21 L'Éternel sentit une odeur agréable, et l'Éternel dit en son coeur: Je ne maudirai plus la terre, à cause de l'homme, parce que les pensées du coeur de l'homme sont mauvaises dès sa jeunesse; et je ne frapperai plus tout ce qui est vivant, comme je l'ai fait.
22 Tant que la terre subsistera, les semailles et la moisson, le froid et la chaleur, l'été et l'hiver, le jour et la nuit ne cesseront point.
