Genesis 8:21-22

New International Version

²¹The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma^(A) and said in his heart: “Never again will I curse the ground^(B) because of humans, even though^[a] every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood.^(C) And never again will I destroy^(D) all living creatures,^(E) as I have done.

²²“As long as the earth endures,
seedtime and harvest,^(F)
cold and heat,
summer and winter,^(G)
day and night
will never cease.”^(H)

⁸Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: ⁹“I now establish my covenant with you^(A) and with your descendants after you ¹⁰and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. ¹¹I establish my covenant^(B) with you:^(C) Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth.^(D)”

¹²And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant^(E) I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come:^(F) ¹³I have set my rainbow^(G) in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. ¹⁴Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow^(H) appears in the clouds, ¹⁵I will remember my covenant^(I) between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life.^(J) ¹⁶Whenever the rainbow^(K) appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant^(L) between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth.”

¹⁷So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant^(M) I have established between me and all life on the earth.”

There they will be a lowly^(B) kingdom.^(C) ¹⁵It will be the lowliest of kingdoms and will never again exalt itself above the other nations.^(D) I will make it so weak that it will never again rule over the nations. ¹⁶Egypt will no longer be a source of confidence^(E) for the people of Israel but will be a reminder^(F) of their sin in turning to her for help.^(G) Then they will know that I am the Sovereign Lord.^(H)’”
