The Flood Begins
7 Then the Lord said to Noah, “I have seen that you are the best man among the people of this time. So you and your family go into the boat. 2 Take with you seven pairs, each male with its female, of every kind of clean animal. And take one pair, each male with its female, of every kind of unclean animal. 3 Take seven pairs of all the birds of the sky, each male with its female. This will allow all these animals to continue living on the earth after the flood. 4 Seven days from now I will send rain on the earth. It will rain 40 days and 40 nights. I will destroy from the earth every living thing that I made.”
5 Noah did everything that the Lord commanded him.
6 Noah was 600 years old when the flood came. 7 He and his wife and his sons and their wives went into the boat. They went in to escape the waters of the flood. 8 The clean animals, the unclean animals, the birds and everything that crawls on the ground 9 came to Noah. They went into the boat in groups of two, male and female. This was just as God had commanded Noah. 10 Seven days later the flood started.
11 Noah was now 600 years old. The flood started on the seventeenth day of the second month of that year. That day the underground springs split open. And the clouds in the sky poured out rain. 12 The rain fell on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights.
13 On that same day Noah and his wife, his sons Shem, Ham and Japheth and their wives went into the boat. 14 They had every kind of wild animal and tame animal. There was every kind of animal that crawls on the earth. Every kind of bird was there. 15 They all came to Noah in the boat in groups of two. There was every creature that had the breath of life. 16 One male and one female of every living thing came. It was just as God had commanded Noah. Then the Lord closed the door behind them.
17 Water flooded the earth for 40 days. As the water rose, it lifted the boat off the ground. 18 The water continued to rise, and the boat floated on the water above the earth. 19 The water rose so much that even the highest mountains under the sky were covered by it. 20 The water continued to rise until it was more than 20 feet above the mountains.
21 All living things that moved on the earth died. This included all the birds, tame animals, wild animals and creatures that swarm on the earth. And all human beings died. 22 So everything on dry land died. This means everything that had the breath of life in its nose. 23 So God destroyed from the earth every living thing that was on the land. This was every man, animal, crawling thing and bird of the sky. All that was left was Noah and what was with him in the boat. 24 And the waters continued to cover the earth for 150 days.

7 Then the (B)Lord said to Noah, (C)“Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that (D)you are righteous before Me in this generation. 2 You shall take with you seven each of every (E)clean animal, a male and his female; (F)two each of animals that are unclean, a male and his female; 3 also seven each of birds of the air, male and female, to keep [a]the species alive on the face of all the earth. 4 For after (G)seven more days I will cause it to rain on the earth (H)forty days and forty nights, and I will [b]destroy from the face of the earth all living things that I have made.” 5 (I)And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him. 6 Noah was (J)six hundred years old when the floodwaters were on the earth.
7 (K)So Noah, with his sons, his wife, and his sons’ wives, went into the ark because of the waters of the flood. 8 Of clean animals, of animals that are unclean, of birds, and of everything that creeps on the earth, 9 two by two they went into the ark to Noah, male and female, as God had commanded Noah. 10 And it came to pass after seven days that the waters of the flood were on the earth. 11 In the six hundredth year of Noah’s life, in the second month, the seventeenth day of the month, on (L)that day all (M)the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the (N)windows of heaven were opened. 12 (O)And the rain was on the earth forty days and forty nights.
13 On the very same day Noah and Noah’s sons, Shem, Ham, and Japheth, and Noah’s wife and the three wives of his sons with them, entered the ark— 14 (P)they and every beast after its kind, all cattle after their kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, every bird of every (Q)sort. 15 And they (R)went into the ark to Noah, two by two, of all flesh in which is the breath of life. 16 So those that entered, male and female of all flesh, went in (S)as God had commanded him; and the Lord shut him in.
17 (T)Now the flood was on the earth forty days. The waters increased and lifted up the ark, and it rose high above the earth. 18 The waters prevailed and greatly increased on the earth, (U)and the ark moved about on the surface of the waters. 19 And the waters prevailed exceedingly on the earth, and all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered. 20 The waters prevailed fifteen cubits upward, and the mountains were covered. 21 (V)And all flesh died that moved on [c]the earth: birds and cattle and beasts and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, and every man. 22 All in (W)whose nostrils was the breath [d]of the spirit of life, all that was on the dry land, died. 23 So He destroyed all living things which were on the face of the ground: both man and cattle, creeping thing and bird of the air. They were destroyed from the earth. Only (X)Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive. 24 (Y)And the waters prevailed on the earth one hundred and fifty days.

7 Li antre nan batiman an, li menm, pitit gason li yo, madanm li ansanm ak madanm pitit li yo pou yo te ka chape anba inondasyon an.
8 tout kalite bèt, kit sa ki bon pou moun manje, kit sa ki pa bon pou moun manje, tout zwazo, tout bèt ki trennen sou vant,
9 yo tout yo vin jwenn Noe nan batiman an, de pa de, mal ak fenmèl, jan Bondye te bay Noe lòd la.
10 Sou sèt jou vre, dlo kouvri tout latè.
11 ¶ Jou ki fè Noe sisanzan (600 an), yon mwa, disèt jou, tout sous nan fon lanmè a pete. Syèl la menm louvri, li konmanse vide dlo sou tè a.
12 Lapli tonbe san rete pandan karant jou karant nwit.
13 ¶ Menm jou sa a, Noe, madanm li, pitit gason l' yo, Sèm, Kam ak Jafè, ansanm ak madanm yo antre nan batiman an,
14 ansanm ak tout kalite bèt domestik, tout kalite bèt ki trennen sou vant ak tout kalite zwazo, tout kalite ti zwazo, tout kalite bèt ki gen zèl.
15 Yo tout yo te vin jwenn Noe nan batiman an, de grenn nan chak kalite bèt vivan ki sou latè.
16 Se konsa, yon mal ak yon fenmèl nan chak kalite bèt vivan antre nan batiman an, jan Bondye te bay lòd la. Epi Bondye fèmen pòt la dèyè Noe.
17 ¶ Pandan karant jou, dlo kouvri tout tè a. Dlo yo gonfle, yo fè batiman an pèdi tè.
18 Dlo yo ranfòse, yo gonfle pi rèd sou tè a jouk batiman an t'ap flote nèt sou dlo a.
19 Dlo a moute pi rèd toujou anwo tè a, li kouvri tèt tout gwo mòn ki anba syèl la.
20 Dlo a moute vennsenk pye depase tèt mòn yo.
21 ¶ Lè sa a, tout bèt sou latè mouri: zwazo, bèt domestik, zannimo, tout bèt ki trennen sou vant yo, ansanm ak tout moun.
22 tout bèt vivan ak tout moun sou latè mouri.
23 Se konsa, Seyè a detwi tout bèt, tout sa ki te sou latè, depi ou tande se moun jouk zannimo domestik, bèt ki trennen sou vant ak zwazo k'ap vole nan syèl la. Yo tout yo disparèt sou latè. Sèl moun ki te rete se te Noe avèk lòt moun ki te nan batiman an ansanm ak li yo.
24 Apre sa, dlo a rete anwo tè a pandan sansenkant (150) jou.
