Noah’s Family and the Ship

⁹ This is the account of Noah and his descendants.

Noah had God’s approval and was a man of integrity among the people of his time. He walked with Elohim.

²³ As soon as you began to make your request, a reply was sent. I have come to give you the reply because you are highly respected. So study the message, and understand the vision.

¹¹ The man said to me, “Daniel, you are highly respected. Pay attention to my words. Stand up, because I’ve been sent to you.” When he said this to me, I stood up, trembling.

¹⁹ He said, “Don’t be afraid. You are highly respected. Everything is alright! Be strong! Be strong!”

As he talked to me, I became stronger. I said, “Sir, tell me what you came to say. You have strengthened me.”

³ Yahweh asked Satan, “Have you thought about my servant Job? No one in the world is like him! He is a man of integrity: He is decent, he fears Elohim, and he stays away from evil. And he still holds on to his principles. You’re trying to provoke me into ruining him for no reason.”

¹⁰ After Job prayed for his friends, Yahweh restored Job’s prosperity and gave him twice as much as he had before. ¹¹ Then all his brothers and sisters and everyone who had previously known him came to him. They ate with him at his house, sympathized with him, and comforted him for all the evil Yahweh had brought to him. Each one gave him some money^[a] and a gold ring.

¹² Yahweh blessed the latter years of Job’s life more than the earlier years. He had 14,000 sheep and goats, 6,000 camels, 2,000 oxen, and 1,000 donkeys. ¹³ He also had seven sons and three daughters. ¹⁴ He named the first daughter Jemimah, the second Cassia, and the third Keren Happuch. ¹⁵ Nowhere in the whole country could be found women who were as beautiful as Job’s daughters. Their father gave them and their brothers an inheritance.

¹⁶ Job lived 140 years after this. He saw his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.^{[b] 17} Then at a very old age, Job died.
