Joseph’s Death

22 Joseph and his father’s family remained in Egypt. Joseph lived 110 years. 23 He saw Ephraim’s sons to the third generation;(A) the sons of Manasseh’s son Machir were recognized by[a][b] Joseph.(B)

24 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am about to die,(C) but God will certainly come to your aid and bring you up from this land to the land he swore to give to Abraham,(D) Isaac,(E) and Jacob.”(F) 25 So Joseph made the sons of Israel take an oath: “When God comes to your aid, you are to carry my bones up from here.”(G)

26 Joseph died at the age of 110. They embalmed him and placed him in a coffin in Egypt.

The children of Machir, Manasseh’s son, were also born on Joseph’s knees. 24 Joseph said to his brothers, “I’m about to die. God will certainly take care of you and bring you out of this land to the land he promised to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.” 25 Joseph made Israel’s sons promise, “When God takes care of you, you must bring up my bones out of here.” 26 Joseph died when he was 110 years old. They embalmed him and placed him in a coffin in Egypt.
