The Family of Adam(A)

This is the book of the (B)genealogy of Adam. In the day that God created man, He made him in (C)the likeness of God. He created them (D)male and female, and (E)blessed them and called them Mankind in the day they were created. And Adam lived one hundred and thirty years, and begot a son (F)in his own likeness, after his image, and (G)named him Seth. After he begot Seth, (H)the days of Adam were eight hundred years; (I)and he had sons and daughters. So all the days that Adam lived were nine hundred and thirty years; (J)and he died.

Seth lived one hundred and five years, and begot (K)Enosh. After he begot Enosh, Seth lived eight hundred and seven years, and had sons and daughters. So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years; and he died.

Enosh lived ninety years, and begot [a]Cainan. 10 After he begot Cainan, Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years, and had sons and daughters. 11 So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years; and he died.

12 Cainan lived seventy years, and begot Mahalalel. 13 After he begot Mahalalel, Cainan lived eight hundred and forty years, and had sons and daughters. 14 So all the days of Cainan were nine hundred and ten years; and he died.

15 Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and begot Jared. 16 After he begot Jared, Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years, and had sons and daughters. 17 So all the days of Mahalalel were eight hundred and ninety-five years; and he died.

18 Jared lived one hundred and sixty-two years, and begot (L)Enoch. 19 After he begot Enoch, Jared lived eight hundred years, and had sons and daughters. 20 So all the days of Jared were nine hundred and sixty-two years; and he died.

21 Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. 22 After he begot Methuselah, Enoch (M)walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. 23 So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years. 24 And (N)Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God (O)took him.

25 Methuselah lived one hundred and eighty-seven years, and begot Lamech. 26 After he begot Lamech, Methuselah lived seven hundred and eighty-two years, and had sons and daughters. 27 So all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred and sixty-nine years; and he died.

28 Lamech lived one hundred and eighty-two years, and had a son. 29 And he called his name (P)Noah,[b] saying, “This one will comfort us concerning our work and the toil of our hands, because of the ground (Q)which the Lord has cursed.” 30 After he begot Noah, Lamech lived five hundred and ninety-five years, and had sons and daughters. 31 So all the days of Lamech were seven hundred and seventy-seven years; and he died.

32 And Noah was five hundred years old, and Noah begot (R)Shem, Ham, (S)and Japheth.

From Adam to Noah

This is the written account(A) of Adam’s family line.(B)

When God created mankind, he made them in the likeness of God.(C) He created them(D) male and female(E) and blessed them. And he named them “Mankind”[a] when they were created.

When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image;(F) and he named him Seth.(G) After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Adam lived a total of 930 years, and then he died.(H)

When Seth had lived 105 years, he became the father[b] of Enosh.(I) After he became the father of Enosh, Seth lived 807 years and had other sons and daughters. Altogether, Seth lived a total of 912 years, and then he died.

When Enosh had lived 90 years, he became the father of Kenan.(J) 10 After he became the father of Kenan, Enosh lived 815 years and had other sons and daughters. 11 Altogether, Enosh lived a total of 905 years, and then he died.

12 When Kenan had lived 70 years, he became the father of Mahalalel.(K) 13 After he became the father of Mahalalel, Kenan lived 840 years and had other sons and daughters. 14 Altogether, Kenan lived a total of 910 years, and then he died.

15 When Mahalalel had lived 65 years, he became the father of Jared.(L) 16 After he became the father of Jared, Mahalalel lived 830 years and had other sons and daughters. 17 Altogether, Mahalalel lived a total of 895 years, and then he died.

18 When Jared had lived 162 years, he became the father of Enoch.(M) 19 After he became the father of Enoch, Jared lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. 20 Altogether, Jared lived a total of 962 years, and then he died.

21 When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.(N) 22 After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God(O) 300 years and had other sons and daughters. 23 Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years. 24 Enoch walked faithfully with God;(P) then he was no more, because God took him away.(Q)

25 When Methuselah had lived 187 years, he became the father of Lamech.(R) 26 After he became the father of Lamech, Methuselah lived 782 years and had other sons and daughters. 27 Altogether, Methuselah lived a total of 969 years, and then he died.

28 When Lamech had lived 182 years, he had a son. 29 He named him Noah[c](S) and said, “He will comfort us in the labor and painful toil of our hands caused by the ground the Lord has cursed.(T) 30 After Noah was born, Lamech lived 595 years and had other sons and daughters. 31 Altogether, Lamech lived a total of 777 years, and then he died.

32 After Noah was 500 years old,(U) he became the father of Shem,(V) Ham and Japheth.(W)

Os descendentes de Adão

Este é o relato dos descendentes de Adão. Quando Deus criou os seres humanos,[a] formou-os semelhantes a ele. Criou-os homem e mulher;[b] quando foram criados, Deus os abençoou e os chamou de “humanidade”.

Aos 130 anos, Adão teve um filho chamado Sete, que era semelhante a ele, à sua imagem. Depois do nascimento de Sete, Adão viveu mais 800 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. Adão viveu 930 anos e morreu.

Aos 105 anos, Sete gerou[c] Enos. Depois do nascimento de[d] Enos, Sete viveu mais 807 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. Sete viveu 912 anos e morreu.

Aos 90 anos, Enos gerou Cainã. 10 Depois do nascimento de Cainã, Enos viveu mais 815 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 11 Enos viveu 905 anos e morreu.

12 Aos 70 anos, Cainã gerou Maalaleel. 13 Depois do nascimento de Maalaleel, Cainã viveu mais 840 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 14 Cainã viveu 910 anos e morreu.

15 Aos 65 anos, Maalaleel gerou Jarede. 16 Depois do nascimento de Jarede, Maalaleel viveu mais 830 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 17 Maalaleel viveu 895 anos e morreu.

18 Aos 162 anos, Jarede gerou Enoque. 19 Depois do nascimento de Enoque, Jarede viveu mais 800 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 20 Jarede viveu 962 anos e morreu.

21 Aos 65 anos, Enoque gerou Matusalém. 22 Depois do nascimento de Matusalém, Enoque viveu em comunhão com Deus por mais 300 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 23 Enoque viveu 365 anos, 24 andando em comunhão com Deus até que, um dia, desapareceu, porque Deus o levou para junto de si.

25 Aos 187 anos, Matusalém gerou Lameque. 26 Depois do nascimento de Lameque, Matusalém viveu mais 782 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 27 Matusalém viveu 969 anos e morreu.

28 Aos 182 anos, Lameque gerou um filho. 29 Chamou-o de Noé,[e] pois disse: “Que ele nos traga alívio de nossas tarefas e do trabalho doloroso de cultivar esta terra que o Senhor amaldiçoou”. 30 Depois do nascimento de Noé, Lameque viveu mais 595 anos e teve outros filhos e filhas. 31 Lameque viveu 777 anos e morreu.

32 Depois que completou 500 anos, Noé gerou três filhos: Sem, Cam e Jafé.
