Genesis 48:4-6

New King James Version

⁴and said to me, ‘Behold, I will ^(A)make you fruitful and multiply you, and I will make of you a multitude of people, and ^(B)give this land to your descendants after you ^(C)as an everlasting possession.’ ⁵And now your ^(D)two sons, Ephraim and Manasseh, who were born to you in the land of Egypt before I came to you in Egypt, are mine; as Reuben and Simeon, they shall be mine. ⁶Your ^[a]offspring ^[b]whom you beget after them shall be yours; they will be called by the name of their brothers in their inheritance.

⁵“Now then, your two sons born to you in Egypt^(D) before I came to you here will be reckoned as mine; Ephraim and Manasseh will be mine,^(E) just as Reuben^(F) and Simeon^(G) are mine. ⁶Any children born to you after them will be yours; in the territory they inherit they will be reckoned under the names of their brothers.
