¹¹ Israel^(A) said to Joseph, “I never expected to see your face again,^(B) and now God has allowed me to see your children too.”^(C)

¹⁴ Now I am ready to visit you for the third time,^(A) and I will not be a burden to you, because what I want is not your possessions but you. After all, children should not have to save up for their parents,^(B) but parents for their children.^(C)

⁴ But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents,^(A) for this is pleasing to God.^(B)
