3 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still alive?” His brothers could not answer him because they were afraid of him.
4 “Please come closer to me,” Joseph said to his brothers. When they did so, he said, “I am Joseph, the brother you sold into slavery in Egypt! 5 Now, don’t be sad or angry with yourselves that you sold me. Elohim sent me ahead of you to save lives.

Is my father still alive?” And his brothers were unable to answer him, for they were dismayed at his presence. 4 So Joseph said to his brothers, “Come near to me, please.” And they drew near. And he said, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into Egypt. 5 So now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves[a] that you sold me here, for God sent me as deliverance before you.

New International Version
3 Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph! Is my father still living?”(A) But his brothers were not able to answer him,(B) because they were terrified at his presence.(C)
4 Then Joseph said to his brothers, “Come close to me.”(D) When they had done so, he said, “I am your brother Joseph, the one you sold into Egypt!(E) 5 And now, do not be distressed(F) and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here,(G) because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.(H)
