⁸ Cain ^[a]talked to his brother Abel; and it happened that when they were in the field Cain rose up against his brother Abel and ^(A)killed him.

⁵⁰ so that the blood of all the prophets, shed ^(A)since the foundation of the world, may be charged ^[a]against this generation, ⁵¹ from ^(B)the blood of Abel to ^(C)the blood of Zechariah, who was killed between the altar and the house of God; yes, I tell you, it shall be charged ^[b]against this generation.’

⁴ By faith ^(A)Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was ^(B)attested to be righteous, God testifying ^[a]about his ^(C)gifts, and through ^[b]faith, though ^(D)he is dead, he still speaks.
