^26 (A)Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, ²⁷ and do not ^(B)give the devil ^[a]an opportunity.

¹⁴ Therefore, I want younger widows to get ^(A)married, have children, ^(B)manage their households, and ^(C)give the enemy no opportunity for reproach; ¹⁵ for some ^(D)have already turned away to follow ^(E)Satan.

¹² Therefore sin is not to ^(A)reign in your mortal body so that you obey its lusts,

^8 (A)Be of sober spirit, ^(B)be on the alert. Your adversary, ^(C)the devil, prowls around like a roaring ^(D)lion, seeking someone to devour.

^7 (A)Submit therefore to God. But ^[a](B)resist the devil, and he will flee from you. ^8 (C)Come close to God and He will come close to you. ^(D)Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and ^(E)purify your hearts, you ^(F)[b]double-minded.
