Genesis 37:27-29
New American Standard Bible
27 (A)Come, and let’s sell him to the Ishmaelites and not lay our hands on him, for he is our brother, our own flesh.” And his brothers listened to him. 28 Then some (B)Midianite traders passed by, so they pulled him out and lifted Joseph out of the pit, and (C)sold [a]him to the Ishmaelites for [b]twenty shekels of silver. So (D)they brought Joseph into Egypt.
29 Now Reuben returned to the pit, and behold, Joseph was not in the pit; so he (E)tore his garments.

New International Version

28 So when the Midianite(C) merchants came by, his brothers pulled Joseph up out of the cistern(D) and sold(E) him for twenty shekels[a] of silver(F) to the Ishmaelites,(G) who took him to Egypt.(H)
29 When Reuben returned to the cistern and saw that Joseph was not there, he tore his clothes.(I)
